just got my car back.......

just got my car back
http://www.legend-forum.com/vbulleti...threadid=15812

The moron body guy messed up alot.
Besides not cleaning up the interior and leaving 2 inches of dust every where he also didnt hook up the antena to the radio, nor the cd changer, didnt put back the molding on the rear glass because his glass guy didnt get all the clips, didnt put back the wheel well in the front, and the paint has waves when you look from the side which I was hoping wouldnt happen.
I didnt even rush them I gave them all the time they needed and still didnt do a right job.
Does any one know know how they fix the wave on the paint issue .
Also the gas tank lid isnt fluh something about the clips and the rubber around the tank whole inside is not put on evenly.
Also what is the wire that sticks out in the back roof by the top f the window connected to?
arrrr.

Sorry guys for the long post just venting
I tried to vent on my girl but she doesnt under stand car issues.

Sorry man...what idiots....did you take the car back to them to make it right??

That totally sucks when people can't even do the job right......those are things are not even small mistakes...

Do you know if they have had past compliants with the BBB?

Good Luck.

he told me about the rear window molding issue but every thing else I was surprised about I mean your not getting a job for free and they still get stuff wrong.
He said to bring it back in but right now I have no time I need it for the weekend I told him before I made plans if he need it longer and he said he had to only wait for the molding clips.
I guess returning a car full of sanding powder is ok for them.
For now Ill clean it a little come Monday its going back in.
The body guy was recomended from a friend they usually do good work but I have shiet for luck

Well the first question I have is how much did you pay for this kind of work?

If the rear quarter was replaced he probably didn't line it up right and that's why the gas door isn't closing right. If he just repaired the quarter in place the door will probably never be right.

The wire at the top of the rear window is probably the phone antenna.

On the other issues take it back and make them hook everything back up correctly and at least vacuum the car out.

The only cure for the paint waves is wet sanding and buffing out.

Although recommendations are a good place to start looking for a shop it is also important to see examples of their work.

I would consider reporting this shop to the BBB if they don't make things right for you.

I am going to bring it back to them. they did replace the quater panel. I also just dicovered the rear door on the changed quater panel side doesnt sit flush either. \
I paid 2300 for this job I had to buy the parts and they were good parts.
How many coats of paint are they supposed to spray and also you say if he wet sands it the waves will go away.

Usually a "wavey" panel is not due to paint, but to improper metalwork/repair and improper blocking. There is a difference between a distorted panel and a blotchy topcoat. The only cure is to rework/reblock and repaint. I doubt a blocking of just the clear will correct this. This was a new or undamaged OEM used panel which was installed?
