Yup, me too. Got hit three times over 15 years. Last one was last year, I passed that one, no lithotripsy. After lithotripsy, the stones were like fragments of glass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine having to pass those!!!!!!!!!
It's important to know what kind of stones you have to avoid it in the future. Calcium or Uric acid? Gotta watch the diet and keep the water intake up. After you pass 50 years, it decreases possibly because your activities change. One session of dehydration in the hot sun can cause the crystal to form and then grow!!! For you guys, who don't have an idea, the attack is like getting ten kicks at the back of your ribs and you're like semiparalyzed with cold sweat due to pain. That's just the beginning. Short of surgery, you either urinate little stones as large as 3/8" of inch in diameter. If you can't then they impact the stones in your kidneys using sound waves causing the crytals to shatter into sharp smaller pieces which you then try to urinate over a few days to a week. Beauty! It's hereditary. |

My grandpa had them, on my mom's side. My dad has had them for 3 years straight. He passed a 9mm last year. I can't wait till I get them. *starts to cry*

yeah it does hurt like hell, but even now after having this damn problem since 3-15-05, i can hopefully say its almost over, I HOPE, my stone in my left side was 3x5mm, now the one in my right is 4x5mm, i know you think of mm and it sounds small, but think about it like this...take a 5mm socket and look at the open end of it, now try to imagine passing that.....i dont know how it formed, but i am definitley changing my diet as we speak....
thanks for the support guys.. dave |
