Kuhmo Ecstas on Snow= Bad idea :(
I was home in Cleveland over the weekend and since it hadn't snowed yet i still had my rims on. Anyways I was coming back from downtown when it started snowing hard as f*ck. So i come up to this hill, if you can call it that
, and i get stuck. All the other cars but me are moving. So i'm just chillin' on the side of the hill and a huge Cadillac from the '80's comes fishtailing up next to me and BOOM, his rear end hits my back bumper. So I get out all pissed and look at my car... not a scratch SWEET! Any ways i waited it out and finally after 2 hours got off the hill. Anyways i guess the moral of the story is if you're thinking of driving w/ Kuhmo's in the winter, or at least the Ecsta 711's, you might as well just run your car into a pole now and get it over with .

I put my stockers on all-season tires about 3 weeks ago
Though 2 years ago I got stuck in a really BIG snow storm rolling on my 17's with all-season tires. Managed to get home without too much difficulty though coming to a stop and go on a hill caused me much havoc. ![]() |

Yeah, don't even try to drive on snow with Sumitomo HTRZII tires either. I made that mistake once and couldn't stop at a stop sign going 15mph on a completely flat road. The next day I put my stock 15" rims with all-season tires and i have traction again.

I wonder why they make Z rated all season tires?
I just bought a set of Dunlop SP 5000s, and they are Z rated, but all season.... why wouldnt they consider them to be just a summer tire? So far so good in the snow, but I have not really ever driven with winter tires so I am not sure what they feel like....
