Kuhmo Ecstas on Snow= Bad idea :(

I was home in Cleveland over the weekend and since it hadn't snowed yet i still had my rims on. Anyways I was coming back from downtown when it started snowing hard as f*ck. So i come up to this hill, if you can call it that , and i get stuck. All the other cars but me are moving. So i'm just chillin' on the side of the hill and a huge Cadillac from the '80's comes fishtailing up next to me and BOOM, his rear end hits my back bumper. So I get out all pissed and look at my car... not a scratch SWEET! Any ways i waited it out and finally after 2 hours got off the hill. Anyways i guess the moral of the story is if you're thinking of driving w/ Kuhmo's in the winter, or at least the Ecsta 711's, you might as well just run your car into a pole now and get it over with .

wow, man no offense but where have you been, your not supposed to drive with your summer wheels on in any amount of snow period, that happens with alot more tires than just kuhmos, anyway, good thing you didnt have any damage gotta love that

I put my stockers on all-season tires about 3 weeks ago

Though 2 years ago I got stuck in a really BIG snow storm rolling on my 17's with all-season tires. Managed to get home without too much difficulty though coming to a stop and go on a hill caused me much havoc.

Yeah, don't even try to drive on snow with Sumitomo HTRZII tires either. I made that mistake once and couldn't stop at a stop sign going 15mph on a completely flat road. The next day I put my stock 15" rims with all-season tires and i have traction again.

I wonder why they make Z rated all season tires?

I just bought a set of Dunlop SP 5000s, and they are Z rated, but all season.... why wouldnt they consider them to be just a summer tire? So far so good in the snow, but I have not really ever driven with winter tires so I am not sure what they feel like....
