Last night and this morning, ive received several texts from people saying that if I call 1-973-409-3274 and press pound, it will submit a vote to legalize green, and if they get 1 million votes, Obama will legalize the stuff. Sounds pretty silly and kinda fishy in my opinion, but have any of u received such texts? I'm all for it but it takes a long process to get something like this passed; more than simply a million people voting for it...

IMO marijuana will never be legal in this country. Police like being able to search your car because "it smells like weed". If it is legalized they wont be able to easliy search the vehicles of those that smoke in their car.

To answer your question I think it's fake. I saw that number on youtube. Obama has already stated that he will not legalize marijuana.

Besides what kind of hypocrites would they look like if one minute they say "If you smoke weed you'll run over a kid on a bike" to "It's actually quite useful in treating symptoms brought on by chemotherapy and has other medical benefits"

Tru. As soon as I got the first text about it I researched Obamas stance on it and he states that legalizing marijuana would not be useful. I think it would be cool if it was legalized, but it would probably do more harm than good. Think of all the pot dealers who will be put out of work: they will either start selling more dangerous drugs or start robbing... or both. Plus like u said, the government benefits too much from it being illegal
