Legend Vs the Stinky Dirt Bike

Had an interesting situation last night. I was going to pick up my wife from my sisters house, but evidently she dropped her off. It was a nice night so I decided to take the long way home and stop and get some ice cream.

Well.... on my way home I was crusing pass people and such - without AC, it was sticky, so I had all windows and roof open. A guy on one of those tall dirt bike things comes up next to me revving and I am looking at his dirty "white" tee.

Green light, we take off, the whole time he is at my right front fender neck and neck - in fact everytime he shifted I would gain a foot (i guess from the shift stutter on his bike) - by the time we got to the next light he was at my rear right door. We stopped, but then he crossed in front of me and made a left turn and put up his middle finger (should have knocked him off - I hate those stupid things)

Question:

I know because of torque and hp, no one driving a production car can touch a sport bike (cbr, katana, etc..), unless you were driving that "Top Gear" thing, but how come I stayed with the dirt bike - I thought those things were quick.

Made me feel good though and I didnt spill my ice cream

Wouldn't that be.....street racing?

To answer your question, he probably didn't want to race, he probably wanted to pass you so that he could make a left turn at that light and didn't expect someone (ie you) to speed up to make it difficult for him.

Because going behind him rather than in front of him is just unheard of! :p

HAHAHAHA, It was probably a cub you were racing.... My crazy redneck neighbor has a couple of those things and his are fast as hell, even with his heavy self. He could smoke me in reverse if that is even possible.

I fess up to getting goaded into Street racing - it was late and the roads were clear - vwat a yu gonna du ehh? Will think twice next time. But if he wanted to make that left, why not wait for me to pass and then turn

HOWEVER -

HE was doing a lot of weaving and bobbing before he got to me and riding my bumper and such. I am pretty sure he wanted to. I , just like any driver, can tell when someone wants a go or not.

Those dirt bikes are fast eh - probably was a cub, cause I was right with him and can hear every shift.

It had to be a bike with a very small motor or serious problems, maybe both. That little things are quick.
Later!
