All I know is Utah is getting pounded. My hometown of St. George was declared an emergency area yesterday after having received enormous amounts of rainfall. The desert sand there doesn't do well with that much water. My family is one of the lucky ones, but many have had homes ruined and one guy even died when he was swept off the top of his SUV by rushing water.

As for northern Utah, the snow started last weekend and is not letting up! Even with plows running all day every day, they can't keep up. It's a good thing I don't need to drive anywhere because I know I'd be stuck. I can't even get into my "normal" driveway; I park in a parking lot 1/2 a block away and walk (where are my snow shoes?) to my house!

Took this one with my camera phone this morning. Nice little snow shelf I've got going on there...

All of over here in southern california are freaking out. Although I did have the oppertunity to wakeboard in a flooded parking lot and bodyboard down a hill till I almost faced my death by nearly missing the curb at the bottom.

Some of the roads leading up to my house were closed off due to flooding and mud/rock slides. I live in the foothills right below some hills that look identical to those that collapsed in La Conchita. I've never even thought that one day they may come tumbling down, but now I'm definitely looking at them in a different light. After the insane storm that hit last night, there were some minor mudslides in my neighborhood (nowhere near the scale of the one catching all the news). But it was enough to leave a bunch of rocks about a foot in diameter littered all over the streets. Also, my street is now covered in about 1-2" of mud and it looks like I just went offroading in my Legend with all the mud that's caked on the sides. Normally, I really don't mind the rain because it usually means snow in the local mountains (which equals snowboarding) but this last storm didn't even bring any snow. It just washed away a lot of the existing stuff and turned it into ice.

When did you go up there? All the roads (330, 18, 38) going up to Bear have been closed for the last few days.
