Let me put it like this---as good as Mike was and is on here, he's even better in person. It was a sad day indeed when that silly misunderstanding shit went down and we lost him as a contributing member. I think most of the OGs would agree that there was not a more honest & forthright person here, period.

Not to sound trite, but this deal is almost like those telethons you see for NPR and Public TV---every little bit helps. However, if we can't pull together enough to pull this off again, that sure won't say much to how we've progressed as a community IMO. I certainly can't make a member contribute but I think if one will look back through this thread and back in the history of this Forum as to the support for this man, you'll help.

Thumbs up Thank You!

Dear Stevie, dear Members,
first off all: Thank you very much for all. I'm really touched about what I have read as fas as I could understand it all. But I guess I can. I'm really proud to have such friends like you all. Just now it's not easy to find the proper expression for all, but I hope that my English is kinda readable for everyone here. Certainly tons of grammar errors as always!

Steve: Thank you so much for the PM I got. Yes I promised to answer in that thread. Exactly what we had arranged. Due to some circumstances because I was just getting a little nervous, I decided to stay in background for a while. I'm not the fastest in writing such complex and especially long posts here, because I need some hours in writing, so I hope this doesn't upset you and the other members of my belated post. To be honest: I knew about this thread, but any days ago I thought to stay in background for the time being. Usually I'm a shy person and I preferred to wait til the moment where the time is ripe for it. We guys at a ripe age do know what most people expect from us. I'm pretty sure you know what I mean

But now the time has come to say: THANK YOU VERY MUCH

My goodness, you guys are making me kinda blush. Time to take a deep breath. I'd never thought and I never dreamed that the same event like the well known NOPI meeting in '04 will happen again. I'm really surprised what happens and I still have no words of all. By which I mean: I'm really interested in your plans for comming to the states and I accept your great offer and idea with all my love and my deepest respect to you all Yep indeed I still miss the good old times at NOPI. It have been the best moments ever in my live. I will never forget the fantastic time we had at that time. Such great moments like to meet finally the holy crew in persons and the most funny time we had. I remember Hass, one of the most funniest guy ever and funny as hell. Really wonderfull. I still have all pics from that meeting and sometimes I feel desire in deep nostalgic and that touch me very strong. I'd love to start a trip again so I hope to meet more guys plus the same guys from the NOPI meeting. Would be really good. This time I will probably come at 99.9% alone without Kevin. Really sad, but I've nothing heard from him since almost 1 year. I'm positive that Kevin has the wrong GF. Dunno what has got into him, but it's by far not the friendship I always thought between us. Really sad. So he has left our forum and I've taken the complete leadership since 1 year. Ok, back to the trip: Damn I hate it being start a trip alone, but I have no other choice. To travel alone is a strange feeling but really not a problem for me. What are just 10 or 12 hours flight? Simply nothing. We will see oh-oh... I remember the trouble I had with the custom agency and its administration on the Airport in ATL. Oh my god I thought to got a nerveous breakdown. I hope the same will not happen again

About The Meeting
I remember reading somthing about this event in that Forum. Seems that I have a lot to do in reading. I could get some infos about Chattanooga in Wikipedia, but I prefer to read it in my language on the Wikipedia site. If you don't mind, I have some curious questions as follow...
  • Does someone exactly know who is coming to that meeting?
  • Any details about the progress of events?
  • Any details about my arrival?
    • Who's gonna pick me up?
    • Which Airport? Hopefully it's ATL
    • Possible to get a overnight stay for me?
  • Possible to stay some days longer in the USA?
  • Reserved for more questions...

My Favour
Thank you for being so cooperative. If anybody else need some special things what I can bring from GER, please tell it me if possible. I remember bringing some spec sort of beers to Mike Diaz at that time (if I'm right). I have a large bag and there's enough room for lot of parts. Please don't hesitate to ask me. Unless someone needs a Type II engine But we have a long time until this event. Just 7 months, but the time flies.

Once again, because I can't say it often enough:
To stevieray: Steve, Thank you so much for all your trust in me
To Searchin4acoupe: Dave, many many thanks for managing the PayPal stuff
To All Members: Thank you so much for letting me stay at your beautiful meeting and to take an active part in. Without you all it'd never happen

Just to name a few. I'll get back later to the other members to give them my spacial thanks!

BTW: Just now I read some things about exact cost and its difference of the complete amount: Please don't get me wrong, but I feel awful that you guys want to pay all This is impossible for me to accept it!!! It's not a problem for me to pay the difference. Means to split the difference and to pay the rest of the amount, if you don't mind. Just in case. Know what I mean? Please get back to me and tell me how you thing about it.
Will talk to you later -Mike

With in-flight movies, you can consider it a 12 hour English refresher! Education, and transportation!

Mike,
I am not sure where you will be flying in to, but I am working for it to be ATL. I will be picking you up and dropping you off at the airport. You will be staying at my house. You are more than welcome to stay extra days. Those extra days can be used to find cheaper flights. I can't wait to see you again!

Mike, that's what friends are for. We will work all of the details out in the coming months but the big thing is that we want you at NALM and you want to be there. Hell, I might even bring you to up to Nashville and let you drive the '91 Granada Black LS Coupe back down to Chattanooga. After all, if the Legend Meister is going be at the national meet, he needs to have a car, doesn't he?

Now, if I can just get Fut, Graeme & Mike Chin (MC) there, this will be a meet for the ages.
