When I was still exploring the options the new Z car was right up there. Especially after watching the Z DVD. Price wise with all the same options the Z was a bit cheaper and it does have something like 7 more horsepower. And it does look quite stunning especially in blue. However the deciding factors that swayed the choice to the G35 were these:

1) Infiniti warranty and service (inc. service loaners).
2) 2+2 versus pure 2 seater (a pure 2 seater would pretty much negate the possibility of a used NSX in the garage)
3) 350Zs are becoming more commonplace on the roads in my area. G35 coupes on the other hand I see only a few times a week.
4) The interior on the Z screams "race me" whereas the G35 is more sport-lux (again refer to the NSX answer).
5) You can fit 2 sets of golf clubs (Infiniti includes a decal inside showing how this can be done) in the G35 and still seat 4 but good luck fitting anything in the Z.

Oh and yes as the Z and the G35 are so similar mechanically many of the performance parts coming for the Z will work in the G. But aside from the tint added last week and possibly some brushed aluminum pedal covers on the G I think I'll keep most of the mechanical tinkering to the Legends.

I think that has to be one of the cleanest colors for the G35 coupe.. I've seen 1 in that color around here

Yeah the Diamond Graphite is less common than most of the other colors for the coupe. I think many buyers pass it up as "too dark" not having seen it in person due to dealer shortages. I was somewhat ambivalent at first after placing the preorder but seeing one identically equipped with dark tinted windows at another dealer reaffirmed the decision.

One of the most popular colors right now for the G35 is the Brilliant Silver which is a much lighter pure silver color which I thought was a bit washed out in person. Of the other colors I my other fav was the Desert Platinum (very close to BrilSilv but with a hint of gold... like Legendary94GS's Lexus) and the Caribbean Blue (quite the eye catcher but it might go out of style quickly). The white is very clean looking as well. I didn't care for the black (too hard to take care of) or the red (the color of my future NSX) for the G35.

P.S. Looks like 92coupeon18s has the same taste in exterior colors on his Legend... heh heh

Thas sooo sweet! We dont have an Infiniti dealer here, and if our nissan dealer wouldve serviced a G35, we wouldve gotten one over our new TT. but... the TT is sweet too.

G35 is a great looking and driving car. Interior leaves me cold though. Congrats.

I'll try to get some interior and backside photos this weekend (weather permitting).

Also I posted this on a different thread but I thought I would add it here as well:

Speaking of G35 power upgrades I just came across this little tidbit today. The Infiniti dealer in the Dallas/FW area (Grubbs Infiniti) is working directly with a supercharger company from Kansas City to fit the G35 with an SC putting out 370RWHP which translates to roughly 430HP at the crank!

The dealership has already sent a test vehicle (a brand new red G35c) to the SC manufacturer. Once complete the Dallas Infiniti dealer will be installing them AT THEIR INFINITI DEALERSHIP for customers! This SC has already been proven in the 350Z so apparently only minor ductwork and ECU modifications are going to be needed.

The cost will be under $5000 + labor. 3 year warranty. And Grubbs Infiniti feels that it shouldn't totally void the infiniti new car warranty citing the Magnuson-Moss act (federal law).

With this upgrade the G35 will be an absolute monster!

Could we see 0-60 times in the high 4 second range (already high 5s stock) ?

Just for giggles lets do the math here:
1) Base G35 coupe (cloth, 17" wheels, HID, 6-disc in-dash, power everything, keyless) - $29,795 MSRP
2) SuperCharger @ roughly $5300 installed
3) Total = 430 HP monster and M3 killer for $35,095! (less than my loaded g35c cost..)
Note: All installed by an Infiniti dealer with a warranty!

How about that!

I drove a new SMG M3. Not that great. I would think a G35 with a S/C or turbo setup would be far more interesting to drive.

Koji, I think your numbers for pricing are way too optimistic. I think the S/C and dealer install will set you back $7K total.

I got the numbers off of some of the g35 owner forums and from the salespeople at Grubbs Infiniti.
