I ended up buying another bike last weekend. I found an 03 Suzuki SV1000K3 with 1500 miles on the clock. The bike belonged to an opthalmologist in Denver. I flew to Denver Friday and rode it back to Seattle. Had a nice 1350 mile ride over the weekend. Two thunderstorms and 30mph headwinds in Wyoming. When I dropped down into Ogden the weather warmed to the mid-80's. It was very enjoyable the rest of the way home.
The SV seems like a good bike. The guy had this loud-ass exhaust on the bike. At least he saved all the original components. The loud-ass exhaust now resides in the corner of the garage. It sounds better off the bike than on.
I am going to sell me faithful Goldwing and my VFR Interceptor. It's time to upgrade. The Turbo has a permanent home in my garage. For a road bike I am leaning toward the FJR. Anyone have one of those?
It was during the winter months that I inquired bout the SV. I don't remember who responded but thank you for the input.
The bike is up on the bike hoist for about another week. I had to order some small pieces from the Suzuki store. I should do a group picture with the bikes. I am also going to get the seat rebuilt. My ass was dead for three days after I got home. This bike has the worst seat I have been on.
I'll keep my eye out for the group picture I can sympathize with the sore ass I've made many long distance roadtrips on a bike, even with a comfy seat my ass was numb by the end of the trip!
