Unhappy who's first (another Dre Linn rambling)

As I retrieve my thoughts, I see poverty. Smart kids cannot afford an education while dumb ones drops off a check with mom and pops signature. Grants and loans alone won’t cover the charge. The 9th month of the 11th day in the year of our Lord 2001 crumbled us... but we still stand but on who is the question... and the answer. Rappers stood up but whom else?? Russia, Germany, France, Italy??? Are you there? Brits and Aussies is all I’ve seen. But now its contract time… Welcome all!! Cancer still plagues our Queens and Kings and the princess and the prince still don’t have the protection they deserve. Monetary donations are all I see. Most of it is solicited. 4 hurricanes "owned" Florida. Left people in a state of tropical depression. Volunteers?? I see locals digging their way out. No bones for the face of a child, father and mother hustle for transportation for surgery. Even I sent a Pay Pal for their support. Tornadoes whisk thru Central U.S. destroying dreams, memories and hopes. No outside help provided. WE GOT THIS THEN shout the locals. Fires in the west, freezing homeless in the east… each saying “let’s just make it to next year. Families of military soldiers collide with reality when loved ones aren’t coming home. And the sad part is they must move because they aren't in the military anymore. It’s not personal, just following the rules.

Tragic earthquake brings Tsunami. Over a hundred thousand die. Basketball players, “$1000 for every point I score” they say only having 1 assist the whole game. MLB donates $1million, Gloria Estefan concert to raise $100,000, Kimberly-Clark Corp. $1.5 million, from antibiotics to clothes to cash lots of it U.S.-based relief groups $200 million raised as of Tuesday. (sigh)

Who takes care of home? Who comes first? Where will Social Security be when I turn 70? Will I die from cancer? Who helped us when we were down? Am I a boxer with no one in my corner? Am I a surgeon with no medical techs? In my mind I know when someone needs help but how can I help someone when I haven’t helped myself first? God Bless America, please completely Bless America. So we can continue to bless everyone else.

Reads like a Charles Bukowski, or Allen Ginsburg poem. Good.

I kind of had this same conversation yesterday. I was feeling a little guilty about the Tsunami and how I live in America and don't really have to deal with war, poverty, famine, disease, etc. like other countries.

Then the person I talked to brought to my attention that there are still some people from the Hurricanes in Florida are still without power. What is our nation, gov't, etc. doing to help them?

Out of sight out of mind. Squeeky whl gets the grease. You gotta be loud and proud these days. Can't suffer in silence. Look at Africa - it's off the radar but shouldn't be.
Matt you live in America and you are dealing with war for sure, and from what I can see America is front and center in the Tsunami aid. So If I was you I would be very proud of your country. That goes for Dre too. Good on you.

What i was trying to state is that when our own country needs aid, where are our people that is donating to the tsunami relief?? They dont exist.

because theoreticaly insurance will pay, america is a wealthy enough country to help itself.. these tsumami victums probably havent even heard of insurance.. they dont have anybody else to lean on.. if the sh1t hits the fan for you what are your options.. i know for me there are a sh1tload, there's heaps i can do for myself and almost anybody i know... i saw a story on a family that saved for about 5 years to buy a photo copier that they would then charge 5c a copy from.. this fed their whole family now they are even worse of than square one.. who do they lean on?.. not their government, their government cant even help itself so they have to lean on the only other option available to them...... us.. but in americas case insurance is the support.. if i crash my car but have insurance would you donate money to me... as i said.. its the paradox of being the wealthiest country in the world

but what about the people in fla that couldn't afford insurance? Too bad? And this isn't just about insurance. What about the little girl that was born with no bones in her face? Her father is in the navy so they get free medical but he couldn't afford to fly his daughter to miami every week. Where was MLB then? and HE'S in the military. or the black girl that was captured with the white girl in iraq. (nothing racial) the white girl got a million dollars from a company "for school" (even tho military veterans get 95% tuition paid in most states) but the black girl lost her home and job because she couldn't work when she got back. Where was Gloria Estafan then? AMERICANS NEED TO TAKE CARE OF AMERICANS FIRST BEFORE WE HELP ANYONE ELSE. Hell, im fighting for my country, and no one elses!!!!
