For those of you who own firearms, is it fairly easy to get a license to purchase one? The laws in Canada are pretty strict and in all honesty, I could probably get a non-registered gun in about 1/100th of the time it would take to purchase a legit one. Are gun laws different from state-to-state? Have any of you been in a situation where you were forced to use your firearm in a non-military/gun range situation? It's crazy to know how many of you own guns...

John, if the switch for the laser replaces the slide lock switch, does that put your glock at risk of coming apart when you don't want it to?

Quote:
To activate the laser, simply push IN on the switch, which replaces the slide lock. Pushing in from either side will turn the laser on; the middle position is off.
I think you're better off with one of these:

the best laser pointer for a glock is the one with a pressure switch on the backstrap so whenever you draw with a firm grip the laser is already on. And instead of using a modified guide rod to run the laser through the lens is mounted on the front of the trigger guard and is tiny since the main part of the laser and the power supply are inside the handle. Sorry I forgot the name but tactically speaking it's the best design: instantly on when you need it and easy to safely cover up with your support hand when you dont want it on. Aim dot sights are better for fast pistol target shooting and better on riffles also. Lasers are fun and cool but not my thing for self defense, besides for the price plus instal you could almost buy another gun.

Laser pointers are totally fucking worthless. You shouldn't be using a gun if you don't know what direction the bullet is going to go.

In oklahoma, unless you want to conceal/carry a pistol, or own something like an automatic rifle/pistol..you don't have to have a lisence for anything.

Gun laws are very different from state to state. Here, you can purchase as many guns of any kind that you want, but in places like Cali, you are limited to how many you can buy per month, plus waiting periods from the time you buy the gun until they actually give it to you.

If I were put in a situation where I needed to have/use one of my firearms then I need to reevaluate my lifestyle. No responsible gun owner should ever WANT to be in a situation where they might have to use their weapon.

You can get 7.62x54R at any gun show. That's where we buy ammo for our mosins (both of them)

The only problem you may run into is back in WW2 period, they put a thin coat of lacquer on some of the rounds so that they would last longer. Well when you fire off a round, this lacquer heats up and expands to the point where you can barely eject the spent cartridge. So look for non lacquered ammo for your mosins.

EXACTLY, if you conceal it properly, there's NO REASON, for anyone to know your packing.

There's a difference between someone knowing you have a gun on you and the cavalier type idiots that walk around with a concealed hangun LOOKING for places to use it.

The great thing about concealing a gun is no one should ever know you have it. The only time you can get fucked is if you have it somewhere that you aren't allowed too....and you are put in a situation where you have to use it. But that is unlikely.

Yeah, Minnesota's CCP says you can carry anywhere, even if there's signs posted no guns allowed. The law states you have to be personally told, you can't enter with a gun, and if you have your gun concealed properly, and they can't see you are carrying, then there's no reason for you to be singled out and told you can't come in carrying a gun.

Federal courthouses and airports are the exception of course as are state capital buildings!

My wife said 70% of gun deaths are people who are shot with their own gun. I'm like, if they don't know you even have a gun, then how are they gonna kill you with it?

Even cops are only like 14% shot with their own guns, but then, they carry out in the open, and need to fight with suspects to arrest them at times.
