Burlwood Rains from the Heavens :: G2

And by "the heavens", I of course mean Japan. Believe it or not, this is the first time I've bought any JDM part from the famous Don(JDMISME).

So, I've got this problem/obsession with finding and acquiring the perfect back burlwood panel. I'm not sure this is it, but its the closest I've come. There are only a couple very tiny cracks in the clear coat on this one and no surface scratches at all. Its a miracle. It really shines. Of course the first thing I did welcoming this new part into the family was wax it:

I would describe my other burlwood panels as above average, but you can really see how much this new panel stands out above the other ones:

(It should be blatantly obvious, but to keep you from asking, the new one is on the right)

Mmmmm:

The only thing I'm not sure I like on this panel is the odd pattern that seems to be in the clear coat. My other panels have lots of visible swirls in the wood and lots of detail, this one doesn't. It matches the front very well though since the forward panel doesn't really have much of this detail in the wood.

Hopefully I'll grow attached to this panel because I can't afford to keep this up. Man, I have a problem. A side note to the photography buffs on here; I'm really growing attached to using my 50mm lens for my day to day shooting.

I think OEM is the best look. I just don't happen to think any of the various arrangements of OEM got it exactly right all at once

ouch, woods don't match...

Maybe cause it's newer...I Guess that's why they pay so much money to have each console cut from the same wood

The gloss and condition is gorgeous though

Yea, thats one of the reasons I've stuck with the original panel so much, but really, in person, the difference in color is even slighter than in the pictures.

Looks beautiful!

As a 6-Speed owner, the JDM console is bitter sweet as I can never own one. But then again, it's so fun.

Funny to hear you say that. My JDM console ensures that I'll never swap from auto to manual. Never been near the top of my list, but its crossed my mind a few times... I bet it has every auto owner on here. "Bitter sweet" is just it.

Why do you think I spent all that time buying and completing 4 JDM non-navi consoles, 2 JDM Navi consoles, and a EDM/UKDM console?

...shiny.

I certainly never get tired of seeing your interior Pinyix...

hey on my '94 GS, can I just replace the same piece on mine with no issues?

I'd love to have wood under my heated seat controls...what are you doing with the other 2 you have?
