Thank you everyone for your positive comments and feedbackit gives motivation to getting it done and looking good! I will post up some pics once I get it all finished. AcuraJan it is just the 300 Watt one radioshack has I was using it for my saltwater aquarium that's not setup right now arnach I have very little expertise with Linux or it would be a great idea I was thinking of going with a tablet PC setup but it sounds like you have this knowledge might have to PM ya Nismo thanks buddy, that would be sweet if you had a horn button great excuse to get over and see your new ride P.S. Love the color Shaar thank you, I am happy to hear you didn't drive into oncoming traffic as your car is quite inspiring as for the boot time when there is a will there is a way, (it may just take time) but I promise to pull it before driving off a cliff. SSilk12001 Thanks, I wanted easy access to the touch pad without the cost of the touch screen and this way I can reach it without moving (lucked out in pre work thought on this part) you guys are great

Nice job! Looks like a fun project. Looking forward to seeing it in person. We need to start coordinating the SLC meet for May/June. I was making a list today and I can think of 20 people in the Salt Lake area with Legends who could/would attend. This could be huge!
. Hope to see your car soon. |

thats really cool, where did you get the screen. I was gonna do this, and do the same thing with the touchpad mouse.

4cruzin that would be really cool PM with some notice to when hopefully I wont have the only car there that looks deprived in terms of looks (looks stock needs rims and paint and some body and interior work)
Lou hmm DIY does usually mean getting it done cheap so this may be soon to come Ken I was serious when I said cheap it was a walmart buy and if you saw the screen I used in it's original housing you would say I was crazy for taking the risk I did to tear it apart with the hope that it would work. (clearance got me) I like doin it like you can't afford it (because I can't) and makin it look like other wish they could. Again thank you for the wonderful replies!

Oh yeah, Shaar I am at a 20 second boot time still running XP. . . and think tablet PC will cut that in half if not more but I will need to get the software first.

Great work!!
Telion,
Hats off to you sir . Since you obvioulsy spent a great deal of time and effort (which IMO is worth much more than the cost of the equipment), you may want to make the setup modular. With summer in-car temps that can reach close to 200 degrees, any major component can fry (i.e. ram, sysboard, or HD) so you may want to make them easily removable... Also, you may want to consider this as an auxilliary setup, so if the 'PC' is removed you will still have radio/cd/ipod etc. Just use a HU that has multiple aux input(s) to the TFT. I have a vison for a similar setup- only that it will utilize a docking station for my laptop. Im always down to brainstorm/troubleshoot if you reach a hurdle... -Steve
