G2: pics of my ghetto tinted bumper lights :)
I had some window tint left over, from a job I did on my sister-in-laws car, and decided to play around with my bumper lights.
It took about 5-10 minutes to cut/shape the tint and about 5 minutes to apply and make sure there were no bubbles. Now, I know this won't hold up for long but I'm curious at how long it will last. It didn't cost me anything but 30-45 minutes of time....total. I snapped a few pics while the lens was off the car. It's dark and raining outside so I tried to snap some pics but they weren't coming out right. When I put them back on and turned on the signal lights, you couldn't tell they were tinted. I'll takes some more pics tomorrow afternoon. After I snapped these pics, I trimmed the tint a little more. It actually looks pretty good on the car. What's nice is that since the lights are slightly recessed into the bumper, you can actually get away without having a perfect edge around the lights. Comments- good or bad welcomed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Let me know if you want me to do yours. But. I'm sure it will be with CLEAR lights..........right? I'm actually going to order some clear ones really soon. I'm really curious to see how long this last. Even if it's only for a few months, I wouldn't mind re-applying. Didn't take much to do.

I can't wait to see them on the car. I'm sure it'll look good.
Depending on your application methods, I bet they'll last a good while. Some tinters, depending on the size of the window, their methods, weather in the area, etc. put automotive tint on the outside of the windows (I believe)

appling tint is very easy just be sure to wet it and the surface in which ur going to tint with a soapy water (they sell kits for like 2 bucks) and use another kit (its called cut n fit kit i think) and its basically a knife and squeege. just cut it, wet it, sqeege and let dry and bam ur done

If you want to do this, then this is what you can do. Go to Walmart, pick up a box of dark (35% and below-it will say on the box). They also sell the tint kit which consist of a blade, squeege, and possibly a spray water bottle. Some of these kits come with a solution in the bottle but if get one that doesn't don't worry about it. You can use soapy water or windex. All the materials above will cost anywhere from $8-$15. Tint has a clear film on the sticky side. Before cutting/shaping your tint, find the sticky side first. A little trick I use: grab the corner of the tint and put scotch tape on the front and back side of the tint and then pull apart. This will seperate the tint from the clear film. The sticky side will be laid on the glass so remember that. Now, I removed the lights from my car so this makes this real easy. Lay a rectangle piece of tint on the light and start trimming to the shape. When done, start seperating the tint but at the same time have someone spray the solution on the sticky side. Tint is really sticky and if it wrinkles or touches another part of the tint (while dry) it will stick together. So, as you'r pulling apart the tint, make sure it's semi-soaked in solution, then lay it over the lens and then squeege the water out. Be gentle so that you don't move the tint around. When done, finish off the trim, get a blow dryer (not necessary) heat it up for about 5-10 minutes and re-install. BTW, this is just my method. I tinted windows on my car when I was younger (too poor to pay for prof. job ) so there's other ways to do this. Just GOOGLE "tinting" and you'll find websites on how to tint.Oh yea, it looks pretty good in the daytime. I just got to work about 1/2 hour ago and now that it's light outside I can see it came out pretty good. I'll snap some pics when I get home this afternoon.
