A Legend Resurrected!
Few of you probably know about the most recent story of stevieray's JDM sedan. I'll let him tell his part. I have loved his sedan ever since I saw it at a Nashville meet back in 03. That sedan has always been my inspiration. I have asked about buying it from him over and over, but he never would part with it. I received an e-mail from him asking if I maybe interested in any parts off of it about a month ago since he knew I was inspired by it. I was going into depression when he told me it was done with and was going to the junkyard. I went up there that weekend, and ended up renting a trailer and bringing the whole car back. She just couldn't go out like that. I had in storage most of all the parts to get it back into shape and some extra money that I was going to use to restore my GS 6-speed and 91LS. Well, now they are going to have to wait their turn. All of the parts in which I had replaced (both front fenders, hood, front and rear bumper) are obviously not to the best matching color, another painter is going to respray it with a better match and blend in another few weeks. With my 3 legends, I am done and the Porsche is gonna see a new home. I wanted stevieray to be one of the first to see the resurrection now I can post up some pics of my newest toy!
I'll try to get the wrecked pictures up soon. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I loved this sedan back in '03! Your painter should be shot.

Yea, tell me about it. The 2 tone looks even worse in these pictures. Steve warned me about how hard it was going to be to match up. I can't wait until the repaint. He's backed up for 2 more weeks. I appreciate the comments. Steve gets the credit for all of the mods done!

Nice one! cant let that end up in a junkyard, no way. Good luck getting it matched better but I know how it goes with the camera picking up the difference.

No way that car could ever end up in the junkyard even through you have replaced some of the body parts and try to have the best matching color yet. Nonetheless, this car will be in your good hand again and again ... I love that engine look though.

nice work. a car to be proud of....especially when the paint is fixed....did the place that painted it charge you? I'm pretty sure they could see that it did not match...

Yea, they charged. I know the owners of the shop and got a good deal out of it. They are great mechanical wise, but its a country shop. Im not going to complain because of what I paid for getting everything repaired. Steve was quoted 6-8 grand for the repair. I didn't pay near that.
Let me ask you all this. Do you all like this bumper, or would a 94-95 look better? I have an extra 94-95 that I was thinking about using when it goes into the shop again. |
