Also, I will hand polish it, if I got it buffed every time they flipped the switch it'd make the swirl marks worse. But I know about the Lexus mats and I will take care of the swirls as best as I can (no buffing), thanks for the comments.
What do you mean by that? Is it new paint? Even so, it can be buffed out.

hahaha.....I know man, once again I just got the car and that's what I had, I'm working on it. But you don't have to be so wry man, that was a little bit rude. Only reason being I wasn't saying they look cool, another member wanted to know if they fit. I'm getting OEMs asap.

Here's a pic of the hood with less intense sun, you can see the quality better.

I know I'm a noob to the site and I'm very humble and appreciate all suggestions and comments. I don't represent most noobs though because I know alot about cars, I'm literally just new to the website not a noob to cars. As you can see I know how to take car of paint, as well as, I know that on this kind of paint job a buffing would leave worse swirls than I could ever hope to by hand, so on black i'll stick to my hand, and see the sky like a mirror when I look at my hood. Once again though, thank you for you suggestions.

I DON'T want to go back and forth with you about swirls and marks, etc. But swirls can't be seen in the shade. Of course you are going to see less in the shade or when there are clouds. Sunlight brings out the imperfection in a paint job.

Buffing properly will not do harm, it'll make it look better. I use the Porter Cable 7424 on my Red Legend, Dad's Green Legend, Dad's Red Corvette, and Mom's BLACK 04 RL.

Read some threads at http://www.detailcity.com. That's the forum that taught me everything I know about detailing.

Again, I don't want to go back and forth with you, but it seems that you have some of the older misconceptions concerning detailing, and I think once you get past those, your Legend could look even better than it already does.

I appreciate the help. I know what youre talking about. The swirls exist on the clear coat, that's why you can get them out without hurting the paint, almost uncovering a new car. All I was saying is that even in intense sun I get lots of comments about the paint. I believe the previous owner got an imperfect buff job. I definately know they can be taken out, I was just showing you a pic in the shade to show that my paint is in "good" condition, youre right though, not perfect, but I can bring it almost back to perfection. Thanks again.

-Mike

Edit: Also dude, trust me I'm taking your advice I can clearly see that your paint is clear as the waters of lake minotanka (nice and chewy) sicckkk!!! :p

Nah, all those swirls can be removed with the right buffer and experienced person. I've seen 10x worse brought back to perfection. Hell, i've seen keyed cars restored just be buffing the clear coat. Take your time, read detail city.com and you can correct it.

Thanks for the comment on my paint. It takes work, but the end result is great. And, yes, Like I said in the PM, I think the car got a bad buff job, but it does look like it can be corrected. Good Luck!!!
