My 89 G1

I've been here for a while, and while I've never posted, I decided to post up some photo's of my G1.

Just some stuff about it: I bought it off a family friend who had it garaged it's entire life, and it had only 123000k's (76500 miles) on the clock. I'm in Australia, so we only have one trim level, which is pretty much everything available anyway. The engine is completely stock, except for the removal of the inner guard resonator. Can't do much more because of the annoying Australian roadworthy laws.

But anyway, the car:

Interior:

And now, the fun part: The sound system.

I'm currently running 3 amps (2 4x50's and a 1x800), 2 Carbon fiber subs @ 400wrms each (1ohm), and a flip out DVD headunit. Everything is Response, but I'm going to be replacing the head unit in the next few weeks, because it's got a heap of software bugs.

The tweeters, I wish all cars made mounting them this easy

My original boot setup.

Spare Tire access

One 4 channel

Second 4 channel

Monoblock and caps before the beauty board.

Now with the beauty board in, which I made today.

I've still gotta make beauty boards up for the other amps, but I ran out of time today.

Car looks very good. The only difference I can notice from the US/Canada version is that your 89 uses the upper dash from the 87 coupes here.

In particular, your dash vents closest to the doors are taller than they are wider. Ours are wider than they are taller.

Also like the third brake like you have on the trunk. Is that stock?

I'm not 100% sure. It was on the car already, and I've seen some others around here with them. I think it's after market though.

Definitely that brake light is not stock.

Very clean car! Your engine bay looks pretty immaculate. The interior looks very clean as well. Do you know where the car was originally sold? Many Australian/New Zealand members have Legends that were sold in Japan or other places originally and have clear corner lights instead of amber.
Anyway, very nice car, next time post some non-camera phone pics. That car is too clean for that.

they use our 86-87 sedan upper dash and the rest of the interior is US/Canada coupe interior. they also have a special console pieces that connects the 96-87 sedan dash to the coupe console.

to the OP: Your car is lookin great and we're glad to have another active Aussie member.

It's originally from Australia. It's build plate is actually September 88, but because of Australia's strange laws, it acctually counts as an 89.

It was on the car when I got it, and we have to have an eye level brake light here anyway. the one on the parcel shelf has been disconnected.

I don't mind the third brake light. It looks better then having nothing at all. What I really want is the lip spoiler, but they're extremely rare here. I was thinking of getting on off a prelude, but I'm not sure if they're the same.
