Talking Pics of the 94 GS with newly installed JDM Grille

Here's a couple of pics of the newly installed JDM Grille on my 94 6speed GS. They aren't the greatest pics as they were taken from my craptastic Treo 650.

Upcoming mods are JDM 1-piece headlights and clear bumpers.

I also have a Honda trunk emblem, but it won't be installed right away because I did not realize the existing 'A' trunk emblem is attached to the trunk by 2 pegs which would need to be filled by welding therefore requiring a repaint of the trunk. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

However, I may just go ahead and repaint the entire car because I just got a great offer on a repaint.

Glad that we still get to see Jack's old GS-6 here on the forums, and glad to see that you're taking good care of her! It looks really clean. I like the Honda emblem, but I think the GS looks so much meaner with a body-color painted surround instead of the chrome. Just my $.02. Keep the pics coming.

It looks worse. Body colored grill trim FTW.

And please, do not repaint that car. It's gorgeous, as is.

Thanks for your opinion.

Well, I'll take a stab at claying and polishing to see if I can get these hard to describe marks on the paint off. If that doesn't work I really don't know what other choice I have besides living with it. If I repaint it, it will definitely stay black. Perhaps I'll break out my DSLR and post some close up pics. Unfortunately you can't see these marks in the pictures above or from a distance but once you get up close, they are more than evident.

i agree, i think the grille would look 1000x better if u got it painted black instead of chrome.

i would also look into other things b4 repainting the car...

I still have the original black painted trim for the grille if I have the desire to do so.

I plan on exploring every possible avenue before resorting to painting. That's the last thing I want to do.

Ok.

1. Are USDM/JDM Acura/Honda Legends and their various OEM options (exterior and interior) real or not?

2. I've heard one or two members state I should not repaint, but I have yet to hear why. So..... Why should I not repaint? If anyone chooses to answer, please keep in mind the plan, if it happens, was to repaint with the same color.

3. Would the OEM touch-up paint from this thread help?

You could try to swap your black GS grill trim onto the Honda grill, it may work.

About getting a repaint: I say that because from all the pictures and stories I've seen/heard of Jack's old GS, it looked about as nice as it gets for being a 13 year old car. Of course it isn't perfect, as no car that old would be. If you do repaint, do it right. As I'd hate to see the car get repainted with inferior paint.

Yeah, I already know the black trim will work as I've already successfully put it on. I'm just trying out the chrome trim and will switch back and forth as I see fit.

If I were to get it repainted it would definitely be done right and not with inferior paint, I love my Legend!!!! Nothing but the be$t for her!

Hmmm... I have to agree about prefering the body-painted grille, but that Honda grille is novel Nice ride!
