One of these days I might buy an extra set of tails and try it the way some others did it in the past-heat up the tails, open them up, paint the indside, that way you have the OEM "gloss" on the outside and you are just changing the color.

I also figured a way to custom make it clear on bottom with some work. and patience.

clear top is the best though... i really want a clear top with red bottom, and then smoke the whole tail lights, that you be sick as hell...

yes, the stripes had to be painted on outside. rest was paint on inside

I tried a heat gun and still couldn't get the edge to sit perfectly (the top corners are where it wrinkles the most).

I could swap tail lights with my sister's 91 coupe and start over again. So, if we can confirm that there is a good method to applying this stuff around the corners without gettting any wrinkles, I'd consider buying more vinyl and trying again.

Oh, and to those considering painting the inside of the lenses: Don't Bother!! Yes you'll get good color and retain the oem outer glossiness, but it doesn't look as good as vinyl because the paint reduces the transparency (so the painted area looks a bit "foggy" on the inside). I've done both and vinyl is better!!!
