Restoration Project: 1994 L Coupe

As most of you know, a few weeks ago I snagged an automatic coupe locally that needed some serious TLC. It was something that I picked up with intentions of hanging onto it for a little while, but the opportunity to buy a GS 6-speed came up and this one's going to have to go. It's been an Arizona car since day 1, originally leased by a female real estate agent in Scottsdale. The car had seen better days. Here is my original thread.

New toy for Ty :)

This was a fun one to restore. I started from the inside out and did a complete Tyson detailing, in addition to completing the following maintenance items:

- New driver's door sucker (thanks BigDaddyJ0416 and ari_one)
- New passenger mirror trim piece (thanks BigDaddyJ0416)
- New horn button (thanks AOA)
- New hood strut (thanks Autozone)
- New tires (thanks ArizonaLegend)
- New interior door handles (thanks ari_one)
- New center cap (thanks Blackend)
- New VSS (yet to be installed)
- Fresh oil change and blue coolant (thanks Acura of Tempe)
- Resecured front bumper (no more bungee cords!)

I decided to throw a couple of GS rims on it (no time for a full swap) and grab a few pictures before the car gets delivered to its new owner this Saturday.

I'll do these in chronological order.

BEFORE

DURING

Engine bay

Even wheel wells

Received a Meguiar's clay bar and 2-step Carnauba wax by hand

Interior: The door sills and virtually all plastic and vinyl was FILTHY!!

Ari installing my new door closer unit

Check out this console. One area where I had wiped. Bet you can tell where it was!!

Console before

Console after

AND THE AFTERS!!!!

Logged all the maintenance receipts in a spreadsheet as usual. TB/WP done at 169k.

Good Gawwd! Did you say a "lady" owned that?! Hmmm!

Anyway, good work on the detail. Now you should do mine when it gets out of the shop. Sorry for not going through the other thread, but how much did you pay her for it?

Nice work, especially on the interior/bay. Is the new owner from the forum? If not recruit him/her to sign up!

It was an okay deal considering the work the car needs, but I'd rather not say right now. I actually bought it from the 3rd or 4th owner.

On the interior I went over everything with Tuff Stuff (it's a carpet cleaner mostly) because it was great at cutting through grease and grime. Then I scrubbed everything down with the Meguiar's vinyl/leather cleaner & conditioner.
