Six-Speed Roll Call!
I know they're pretty rare, but I'm just curious to see how many people on the forums have one... It seems like there are quite a few. It might be cool to also find out how everyone found theirs (maybe it would help those who are currently searching) and how long it took to find.
I searched AutoTrader, Ebay, Cars.com, and the local papers every day for three weeks, and ended up finding "the one" on AutoTrader from a private seller (original owner lady) in March '03. Paid $9,500 and it had 95,000 miles. The car was located in San Jose, CA. Post here if you have an L/LS coupe 6-spd or a GS 6-spd! ![]() Update 12/12/05 Currently at 200,600 miles and still running strong! Here's my "hitting 200k" thread with all maintenance listed: Joined the 200,000 club! See ALL maintenance here... Last edited by 4cruizn : 12-13-05 at 12:29 AM. |

I have a LS 6 speed. I found mine on a toyota lot looking for a corolla with my dad. At the time I wasn't really looking for cars but I ended up buying it a few days later.

Found mine on autotrader. I had been dreaming about a 94-95 coupe for a while and looking at the various autotrader ads. When things lined up and I actually could afford one, I found the one I now own. I had never even driven stick when I first saw the ad. I had a couple friends let me drive their cars around. Drove out to philly (8 hours) with my dad on sept 3rd. Drove it home the same day.

Had a 94 L sedan with a bunch of mods back in 2000.
I happened to be driving past the Acura dealer one day and saw they had a Milano Red 6-spd w/47k miles sitting out front on display with all the newer RL's, TL's etc. I commenced to do a quick U-turn, nearly causing at least two accidents. I jumped out of my car, not even turning it off or putting it in gear and I sprinted to the sales manager. I say to him, out of breath, "Hold that 6 spd(pant), I'll put $3000 (pant) down it it right now!" Being that we were return customers he let me put the deposit down to hold it as I had to return the Sedan back to stock. ...and the rest is history. |

Taging along with a friend in '96 just looking a Legends I happen to read in the dealer sales material "Standard - 6 Speed manual transmission". That was it for me. That very day I faxed every dealer in the '96 Acura Dealer Listing Booklet. Yes faxed, the internet wasn't my thing back then. Located 6 that way in two days. One in Dallas was too-too clean. It was just in off a 2 year lease. My peeps test drove it and sent me a video. That next week I was flew to Dallas and inked the deal. The GS arrived in Cali via truck the following week. Even now I can remember the salesman in Cali telling me how rare a GS 6 Speed was and how I'd never find one. Guess I showed him huh?
One... Fut ![]()

Just got my 6sp. I've had my 94 Black LS for just under a year now, but continued to look for a 6sp in good condition. Late last month, I found one in the paper! I wasn't that excited, because I wanted a black or red one (this one was green) - but then I took it for a spin....SOLD. Got a great deal!
NOW, I have to sell my AUTO! Overall - the auto is in MUCH better condition, but the new 6sp has fogs, a spoiler, and is lowered on some STIFF shocks (handles like a dream though!). To anyone looking - they are rare - but if you're patient enough, they'll show up!....maybe a little longer for a red or black one... |

bought my 89 L coupe auto in '00 and have been looking for the 6 speed coupe since. I found one that I could finally afford in June at Acura of South Bay in Torrance Ca. and weaseled my way into that one. I got financing from a credit union account that I had opened when I was 5 and forgotten about. I had about $100 in the account but it was still active. I got the financing and have been loving it since.

When I was going through my HG nightmare in my 91LS, I said to myself one day "it would be so cool to own a 6 speed legend..... I have never seen one in the city..."
So immidatly after that thought, I went on the Auto trader, and to my surprise was a 6 speed legend for sale in Edmonton. The guy actually drove it down that night and I put a deposit on it. I love it!
