Nice move, Jack. That's one BMW that I haven't had the privilege of driving yet. Definitely a step in the right direction as far as replacing the GS-6 is concerned. Congrats!

Really? Hmm.... I was driving an '07 M6 Convertible off and on over the past few months and must say that the SMG felt like grandma shifting. Granted, I didn't really take the time to learn the SMG system, and being that it was new, I was rarely in "Power" mode (there's a switch) which might have changed the shifting characteristics. The SMG also has its own settings, but again, I never took the time to figure it out.

nice car, I got a chance to drive a 2000 m5 recently.

I literally drove it like I stole it. It was a blast...the transmission and gears are so smooth. Clutch is just perfect and its very hard to stall in this car.

The car belonged to my cousin's friend and he was getting rid of it so I drove it HARD.

I would be looking good if I can see your GS in the drive way together with the M5. Those car had sweet ass exhaust sound lol, I did seat on a 00 M5 with 6spd MT oh dam those car are so sweet.
