I know many know about Japanese VIP style, but some don't and like to share with those. Some people just don't know how nice those can "hookup" a sedan.
But here are some scans from my VIPCAR magazines (notice how close they get the tires to the cut fenders). From my experience, I know we can fit at least 9" rims with stretched tires, there's plenty of room with the Legend just that no one has been extremed enough. I have 18 X 8 with +40 and still have about half an inch if I cut the inner lip off. (I probably do it someday with wider rims). Anyways.. here they are: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These magazines are as big as the OPTION2. I grew out of OPTION2 and have much interest in these VIP. I think once you own a copy and see how well the can do sedans, it changes you... pwaaaaaaaaaaa |

Roads in Japan (Aisia) must be like glass because on a stretched/slammed setup like that in the US you hit one nice pothole and your rim/tire/ fender is toast.
I would do fender flairs that extreme on a Legend. Unless I had an aero kit like Magellen or the admiration like kits.. I wouldnt mind the negative camber w/ stretched rear tires but the daily driving would kill my wallet. I love the VIP style. When I can get a Celisor or Y33 then i'm in business.

I need my car repainted, and probably cut the lip off before the paint job so I can stuff some fat fat rims. EDIT: btw... it was a mistake for me to get this legend after I wrecked my prelude... i should have gotton an old Lexus LS400 (was same price range too!)... =( Last edited by Volk Racing : 02-17-05 at 04:10 PM. |

VIP is definitely nice, but sometimes those rims look out of place?
I remember this Legend VIP: ![]()

Yes I'de def rock that but on a 2000+ RL. That is an nicely widend legend. I travel more to Atlanta, and all over the perimeter so I see the brunt of ATL's worst. On peachetree. rd in buckhead a nice creator had my name allover it amothe ago and creamed my rim. But the look oh the look is oh so worth it. ![]() Anyone have more pics of this legend?

Most VIP sedans use Hydraulic or Pneumatic suspensions, so these lowered cars are not really how they drive around...Most of those on those pics atleast.
Alot of those cars are way over the top for me...WAY too much...that's goin back to the Classic VIP and it's funny how VIP seems to go in waves...it was really loud and obnoxious at one point, then got kinda quiet and it seems to be getting loud and obnoxious again... Pure Gangsta (Yakuza) ![]() the wheels are getting outta control ![]() I dont like that 140's interior (that mercedes S) too much. and yea, 9s can fit under this bad boy with some work, a safe bet for the stretched tire look is the 8.5 with 225 width tires. that will give a big stretched out look. I saw some 9.5s with 245 or 255 on it and i asked the guy to scale it back to the 8" range and he did it...8.5 with a 225 works very well. I remember talkin about the "stretched" tire look on here and people laughin at me cause they figured that was stupid ![]() |

The stretched tire from what I heard is hard as heck to mount esp. with rims that have a reversed lip. I know most wheel/tire shops in GA prob. won't mount a stretched set up because of that and liability if something goes wrong.

Anyways, I bought them pre-owned by DVP, and they are in great condition. These are THICK and BIG magazines like the Option, so they get easily worn out if not careful, but DVP kept them in great shape! They cost about 11$ or so each at a Japanese bookstore (if you can find one in there that is), but DVP sells them for really great price. |
