Another TL to Legend Wheel Question...
I've searched and not found ALL of the answers to this question.
Background: I'm acquiring a set of non-bored TL wheels this weekend. There is a machine shop here in town, but I'm sure they've never done this and I'll have to be very specific to make sure it's done right. Here are the questions... Where do you bore? (hub area from the back side?) What size do you bore to? (70.2mm?) How deep do you bore? (no idea) Anything else I need to tell them? I'm sorry for the repeated questions (I did search...I swear!!) and thanks.

"Where do you bore?"= The little circle on the back of the rim. Test fit the rim and youll see what i mean
"What size do you bore to?"= The perfect fit is 70.2mm, its a snug fit, my guy said he would recommend going up to 70.3mm so i dont have to thread the needle getting the rim back on the car. "How deep do you bore?"= It doesnt need to be bored in very much at all, go take off your wheel, and look at your rim less wheel, youll see a circular piece of metal in the center of the caliper/brake assembly. Thats the hub. its only about half an inch at most. "Anything else to tell him" = more than likely, he will need to use a Mill for this job, the place i went, tried to use a Lathe, but i still had the tires on it, so it wouldnt fit on the lathe. I dunno if yours has tires or not tho. i Basically Wes, its not a huge job, any monkey with a lathe or mill could do this job. If he trys to tell you its not doable, feel free to show him a picture of Rose Any other questions, you got my number man! |

haha
Sorry bro...it's a deal I couldn't pass up! ![]() Thanks, Wyatt. These country machine shops aren't used to messing with anything "Japanese". I'll need to use small words and watch over their shoulder... ![]()

Thanks, man. That did help...
I thought of one more question. Am I going to need special lug nuts with this thing? I thought you and Alex were talking about that at the Austin meet when you guys were about to change wheels. I don't remember, because I was all jacked up on Mountain Dew...
