Exclamation Clanging Noise on Small Bumps....

It has been about 2 months since Shaar and I swapped suspensions. The set i recieved had new OEM replacement rear shocks and eibach lowering springs. Ever since i have experienced a metallic sounding "clang/rattle" when the shock recieves any motion. The bump stops have been replaced with shorter energy suspension stops and I have taken the shocks apart atleast twice! I'm not sure what this phantom noise could be....but it is about to drive me crazy...please let me know suggestions!

Thanks

MT

I had an issue like that too, it was the heat sheild for my b-pipe,cut that lil bastard off and it went away. Not sayin that is your noise, but check it out cuz it comes from the rear end.

Can't that noise be from your strut mounts/top plates?

hmmm.....

i'll look at the heat shielding...but i think that has all been removed. Also....what could it be in the strut mount?

Not sure on the Legend, but on a Mazada that I had, they were rusted and the bolts would loosen leaving a gap that made a clanking noise everytime I'd hit a bump.

Shock...

I think the shock is blown.....does it maybe make a clicking noise and get rather bouncy when its dead?

not bouncy so much as floaty, the shocks will def clunk once they get bad enough. it is possible the strut is bad, easy way to check, joust the rear end of the car, it should go down, rebound then level, if it goes down, rebounds, and continues to float, you may have a dead shock or a shock going bad
