The fork not holding the shock body securely is not good.
I bet that's the reason for the noise that it was making. When you go over a bump, and back down, the wheel probably drops faster than the shock can extend due to the shock doing it's job trying to slow down the extension of the spring. This process is equivalent to jacking up your car and letting the shock body clunk loosely in the fork. If you go over a big bump pretty fast, the wheel might drop so much faster than the damper can extend, I bet the fork and the shock will separate since it's held on loosely. Also, even if it doesn't completely separate, each time you go over a bump, it creates an "impact" on the shock/fork and might ruin both components in the future after so many bangs. Just my theory. |

This has been a good investment but I need dampers that are stiffer now since I have gotten used to these. These will be re-valved and used as a back up once I get my upgraded suspension (not Ksports). Not even sure if it makes sense to have a spare suspension but anyway..... Honestly though, there is no reason to get these anymore with the Ksports being out. With the investment in the coilovers and the TSX forks, the price comes out to around that of the Ksports.

.Seriously though, if you could get the kit and everything required to make it fit safely (ie TSX forks) and be at least $200 cheaper than maybe it would be worth it. The phase of testing alternate coilovers has come to an end with the release of the ksports. i'm keeping my teins though and going for something else later on.

ksports and tein basics are about the same price as aftermarket shocks and springs.

if you're goin to use the accord coilover set up, why not use the 01-03 cl-s coilover set up
