yeah but what is the spring rates, diameter of shock, upper mounts??

EDIT:well you wont believe this. Just got off the phone with Dropzone...to get new sleeves. It is basically an accord kit but they dont list that car or whatever and they don't sanction us using accord kits. But the guy did say that more legend owners have been just using the full accord coilovers. So i guess it is worth a shot. I have to send him my sleeves so he can find the correct size which i thought was odd but he said they are all different between everything(i found that odd.) So anyways i will update this in a couple weeks and i am looking into buddy club, and skunk 2 also.

The TSX weighs about 3250-3300 pounds. That's less than 10% difference compared to the Legend. Probably won't kill the shocks too quickly.

Delray Acura

$40 is a pretty inexpensive way to find out if it is a direct fit. Also - it does look like it has the bracket you mentioned.

Yeah, I am using the accord forks right now. l will probably zip tie the brake lines. I will be checking for wear this weekend when I change my ball joint boots.

Hmmm, I wonder what would happen if I put this setup on my legend and went airbourne for just a second. This is totally unsafe. If those front wheels catch air and the shocks fall out of the lower fork you due for a really hard hit when the tires touch the ground again!

I'm not trying to discredit your modification, but the more I read about it, the more I think how dangerous it is:
1. the coil-overs can fall out of the lower fork
2. there is no mounting screw for the brake lines, so any slight abraison might bust the lines over time (read TheGodfather's story)

Be careful. Excercise safety first!

I don't think the coilover can come out of the fork now that he's using the Accord/TSX fork. With the Legend forks it would have been unsafe though.

Yes, I have switched over to the Accord forks which hold the shocks securely even when the car is lifted completely off the wheels. As for the brakelines, yes they are not secured at the lower shock mount but I dont think there would be any wear on the line being that they are rubber (could be wrong), they are not tangled nor is there any threat of that happening. I will ziptie the lines to the shock body or fork for peice of mind though. Right know that is the only major issue in my eyes.

I definitely would not recommend this modification YET as there are still some unknowns such as wear on the other suspension components and such. But for NOW they are holding up and if they make it till october (1 year mark) I would consider it a worthwhile attempt, although I wouldn't do it again. If they last 36,000 miles or 2-3 years consider me sold .

If anything major happens, I'll let you guys know.

so does the spring seat nicely in the upper mount? i am tempted to try this in the rear only, and order a pillow ball from JIC since they make them for our cars. how much were the accord/tsx forks?

I wouldn't say its snug a fit like a legend specific suspension but there is no threat of it coming out or anything like that. Only doing the rears will create a huge imbalance and induce crazy oversteer.

I thought about doing this with the jic mounts but am not sure whether there will be compatibility issues.

all i have is koni shocks and koni springs in the rear... and before i put my jics up front i want to replace the back with a decent set of coilovers... that will be cheaper than the 700-800$ price tag (for rears only) on the jics

Tein has the TSX Basic coilovers set at 10/559 6/33 spring rate. would you go softer or harder if you had the opportunity? I know its subjective and all that but, im looking for 60/40 comfort/performance. Im looking to get the adjustability of the shock to make it 50/50.

What do you say?

If KSport would mirror Tein's spring rates by default,
they would potentially satisfy more buyers, as Tien's appeal
greatly to the general enthusiast.

Those who entertain a custom spring rate
should have the option to specify stiffer or smoother.
