G1: How much to drill 4 lug pattern holes on NSX wheels?

Has anyone had 5 lug wheels redrilled with a 4 lug pattern. If so how much and does a typical machine shop do it?

I am asking because I am thinking about getting some NSX wheels like these for my G1.

I would get four front NSX wheels instead of four rear wheels because of the size. The fronts pictured are 16" by 7" and have a 55mm offset. As you might already know the center bore for all front NSX wheels is 70.1mm.

The G1 wheels are 15" by 5.5" with a 45mm offset. I'm not sure what the size of the center bore of the G1 is. Right now I'm just getting as much info as I can to see if it is even doable.

My appologies if this should be in the wheel section. I wasn't sure if it applied to OEM wheels.

good luck drilling wheels lol you're better off swapping in a 5 lug hub than drilling wheels to fit.

With all due respect, I think you guys are wrong. I've seen a four hole pattern drilled into a five hole rim and vice versa. The worst part of it is it looks a bit bad if you don't have centre caps. But since these wheels are black that shouldn't be too big problem. Provided its done by a professional (and it absolutely has to be done by a professional who has done this before and guarantees his work), I don't see why this is a bad idea. As for cost, I'm not sure how much it is over stateside. Drilling a new stud pattern is not uncommon here.

the only way it should be done is getting the 5 lug pattern filled in, then have a machine shop with precise equipment drill new holes. honestly its possible but not even worth it money wise.

You'd be better off finding aftermarket wheels in 4 Lug config that look similar to these. I have seen wheels like these on Civics, so its just a matter of browsing for wheels until you find ones that look similar. I think drilling holes may even cause the wheels to be structurally weak.

Humm... I recently had 8 BBS RS II rims nine holed to fit the 4 lug pattern on my G1. Now swapping them back and forth (G1 to G2) is easy as 1-2-3. They're the same rim pictured in my sig less the chrome, both sets are now silver with polished lips. No pics for now, stay tuned.

Thanks for the advice guys. I haven't bought those wheels yet. They are for sale on NSXprime.com for $800. It seems like you all agree that it would cost too much to do. lol The only person I have seen getting wheels redrilled for a G1 is Fut. I'm not sure if he has done it yet. Hopefully it doesn't cost too much but I'll just keep doing research til' I find a price, I won't buy them just yet.

EDIT: ^I didn't see your post at first. J/W who did the work, is it safe, and if you don't mind how much would something like that cost?

It's done and in the can. My $$$ are way short right now for tires thus no pics. IMO it wasn't that costly, $100 a rim. Any good wheel shop can quote you prices.
