Squeaking lower A arms in front

Is there anything that can be done when the bushings start squeaking on my lower A arms (the massive ones) Can i replace the bushings by themselves or do I need to buy whole new A arms? Stuff like this makes me want to go find poly parts...

Rangerjoe - how do you know it's the bushings on the lower A arms?

As the weather gets colder, my front end squeaks when I go over bumps. I always assumed it was the control arm (sway bar) bushings because it's worse when I go over speed bumps & the sway bar twists in both bushings (left & right). Greasing these bushings is pretty easy to do with silicone grease. It seems to help for a while but only seems to last for 1 year. I greased them last fall & they'r starting to squeak again.

Maybe it's not the sway bar bushings on my car that are squeaking.

It's a pretty loud squeak which leads me to believe it's not something small like the sway bar bolts.....

I wasn't thinking about the sway bar bolts. There are 2 rubber sway bar bushings. There is a page in the Helms Manual & a DIY on this forum about how to grease them. Pretty easy but questionable how effective it is.

Phil, I had this problem on the '92 Sedan and the bushings on the right upper control arm had dried out. I bought a spray can of CRC Penetrating Power Lube, soaked every bushing on that side I could get to and I haven't had a problem since. This was after I puked out $263 for a new LCA because I thought those bushings were shot and it turns out a $4.99 can of lube fixes the problem. Gah!

Stevieray - what exactly were the symptoms you had? Under what conditions would it squeak? CRC Penetrating Power Lube - where did you get this stuff?

if u grease something once a year only and it lasts that long. i call it fix to a problem. you should grease it more regularly and it wont be a problem at all.

Under braking, small to moderate bumps, sharp right hand turns. Got it at O'Reilly.

nice - my front is squeakin a LOT on my driver's side, and a little on my passenger side. It happens whenever I go over speed bumps or change direction (up a hill, down a hill, or turn).

Even while parked, if I turn the wheel I get the squeak on the driver's side. Think they have that CRC Penetrating Lube at Autozone?
