thinking about running 18x8, 18x9 staggered wheels

hi guys, im thinking about doing a staggered wheel VIP CAR setup and was wondering what tire sizes would be optimal. the wheels i plan on getting at 18x8 with +50 offset in the front, 18x9 +56 offset rears. i was thinking 225/40/18s in fronts and 235s in the rear?

If you do it right it's going to look bad @ss. The rear might rub on the inside. Hope you get it right though since I wanna see some VIP style legends

I think that would look tight. Of course people will hate on that idea because its a FWD, but it will look real good. Im thinking of doing the same on a coupe.

They sell a tool that they you can use to roll your fenders on your own. You sick it on your wheel and rotate the wheel back and forth. You may wanna just use it in the rear so you dont have to worry about the unstability of the front wheels with the steering and all.

no, i was not going with ame cx wheels. not really my style. personally i prefer mesh rims. my friend has ame circular spec r wheels on his 350z and the quality of ame wheels are definitely nice though. i was planning on going with 3-piece work vs-xx, gold with polished lip, but i changed my mind and had gotten different rims. instead, i went with the more a somewhat conservative setup; volk racing volk III forged 3-piece, black with polished lip. 18x8 all around +45 offset with 225/40/18 tires. i guess i'll be posting some pics with my new wheels since they've been mounted once i get a chance. btw thanks for the encouragement. maybe when i plan to get a jdm admiration/tradition kit for my car i'll consider running more extreme rims and a much more aggressive drop with my car. at least for now, car is still being daily driven and i feel that the koni/eibach setup i currently have is a good match for that. maybe air runner air suspension / jdm aimgain coilovers in the future.

I still think mine is mild... 18 X 8.0 and 18 X 9.0, +47 front and back.
If I keep the same offset, I can actually fit 10.0 in the back.

I just can't stand the way the Legend sedan looks when you have all same size/offset for the front and rears because the front will stick out more than the rear giving it a nonconsistant flush look.

Nice setup. Really like what you did to your ride. I also like staggered setup since my wife's c230 has it. Makes it look more aggressive.

yeah, should look good.
I'm running 18x9.5/18x8.5 on my LS400 (totally different I know), but it helped the look alot. Offsets are +22 front and +38 rear.

I'd opt to flip your stagger so the wider wheels are in front. That's for handling reasons though; if you're driving everywhere at average speeds and on normal roads you're fine with the wider wheels in the back.

Last week I had the wider wheels in the back because Discount Tire screwed up my tire rotation. I went on a mountain run without noticing it and the front tires were completely destroyed on the downhill portion. Too much push.
