What is the widest wheel that wont rub on a g1?

IM looking to get 18s but I want a nice deep lip. Will 18x9.5 fit? Im planning on getting 205/40/18 low profile tires and stock ride height.

Thumbs up What is the widest wheel thatwon't rub on a G1?

If you click on my sig. you will see pics of my G1. I'm running 18" x 8" with 215/40/18's. My back spacing is 45mm. If I look down over my rear wheels and tires they are even with the lip of the fenderwell. I also have about 1/2" to 3/8"s of an inch behind the tire and the lower control arm. Also about the same with the Upper control arm. I'm stock height right now and I'm thinking of lowering the car to get ride of the wheel gap. But I also love the way it rides right now!! so I don't know if I want to sacrifice ride quality for looks!! I really love how the car would look lowered but like I said I Love the ride quality more!!!( As we get older we like the ride over the looks + our kidneys love the ride much better when we're not lowered ) Oh yeah!! I also have no rubbing issues right now!!!

Yea ive checked out your ride many times since I also have a g1 gold coupe. It looks real clean!!! I think it looks nice without being lowered. My last two cars were slammed and I got tired of the shytty ride, not to mention having to watch out for potholes and such. Thats the reason im staying stock ride height this time. Also the reason I bought the legend, for ride comfort (my last two cars were civics).

Anyone else have any pics of rims on g1's with a big lip?

i like the way your car looks without lowering it, btw those rims are perfect for that coupe, they almost look like they belong on that car and not just some tacky after market rim added on with no forethought.

i got 18's on mine. plus i still have on stock springs. mine doesn't rub especially my front shocks that i need to replace really soon. on freeway the front bounces up and down really hard and i dont rub anything. but for the rear i did have to pound something on the inner fender cause it kept rubbing and rips the side rubber. but now im rub-free.

Thanks!!! It took me almost 6 months trying to figure out which rims I wanted to get!!! Most of the rims I wanted were either not available with our lug pattern or were WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!!

Dropped my G1 Sedan on Eibachs. Installed Blue Tokicos, Crossed Drilled Rotors & 6 Line - Stainless Steel Brakelines. I'll be running the same BBS RSII Rims pictured on my GS less the crome (now they're silver w/polished lips). It's a second set I had 9 holed last year. Now I can run them on my GS 6 Speed and my '90 LS 5 Speed Sedan. BTW the BBS' are 18x8.5 w/a +48 offset.
