Muffler Clean??

I guess this would be the right question to ask this, as it is about cleaning.
My remus muffler is in need of a little TLC and I'm not sure exactly what to clean it with. I usually will wax the tips when I am waxing the whole car, but its not just the tips.

Would there be anything I could use to clean the main chamber of the muffler, to make it not look so brown? I was also just thinking about painting it, high temp paint??

Pretty much what do you guys use for chrome stuff that seems to last, and if there is anything to do about my mufflers chamber being so brown, what would you suggest, thanks in advance.

I don't have a remus exhaust, but I wax my Greddy just like the rest of the car.

When I got my Stromung used, it was pretty damn dirty.

First, I just washed it off like I would my car to remove any surface crap. Second, I used some 2000 grit sandpaper to wetsand, which removed almost all the junk off of it. It will also take out scratches. Then I just polished it using Blue Magic polish that I applied with a pad like you'd wax with. Worked really well.

It's not too hard. Costs less than $20 in parts too. I detailed it in the DIY I wrote. It's really just, clean it, repair it, and paint it Oh yeah, you'll also need something to drive for a few days while you have the muffler off of it.

i use mother's mag and aluminum polish. it's a polish for bare metal. with that said your muffler is most likely stainless steel insted of chrome. later.

I use this Blue Magic Cream polish on my stainless steel parts works great. Picked up a jar at my local auto part store. I use it on a lot of different things around the house and car.

I'm curious to see how the mothers works. Some people say it takes less elbow grease than the blue magic.
