I'm gonna need a bigger camera bag

With all your guys ranting, I decided an investment in one of the abundant canon 3rd party products was in order.

Playing with this around the house shows promise. I actually surprised myself with how natural I was able to make the lighting seem a couple times. Even still, I can't really make sense of the chart on the back and I find myself using my intuition more than the chart to meter my images. Also, I think the telescoping feature for 28-85mm is useless. So if you guys have any insights, do share. You should know by now I need all the help I can get when it comes to providing my own lighting.

I think OEM is the best look. I just don't happen to think any of the various arrangements of OEM got it exactly right all at once

No, its digital. Its got ETTL and it works with my camera. I can't say I've noticed it working with me, but theres a light that says ETTL is working and the flash say "OK" when my last shot was in good exposure. I'm not sure what its lacking as I didn't even research the high end flashes as they were WAY out of my price range but having played around with it, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

The height was a selling point for the flash as "the distance between the flash and the lens will eliminate red eye". I'm not sure how well that works yet but it sure makes my camera hella top heavy.

you can tell if ttl (through the lens) is working by focusing the lens in and you should hear the flash focusing in as well. my sb-25 has ttl, but it does not work with either of my nikon dslr's. could you take a pic of the back of your flash so we can make some sense of the controls ken?

Its real basic. Theres a movable (non-integrated) chart that is only useful when the flash is straight forward a few lights and an on/off switch. I'll get a picture for you though.

Heres the back of the flash:

Like I said, that (non-integrated)chart is only useful if its pointed straight ahead.

And heres the bag I just upgraded to. It can hold every camera toy I own

It even has a rain jacket built in.
