My non-car shots

I've been taking pictures like mad since I got my new camera and sure I've taken plenty of car shots but these are some of the other things. Taking these are often more fun since they require less premeditation than car shots. Let me know what you think.

Can you tell I like low light without a flash?

Haha. You sure do cycle through the internet quickly... a lot like me. Only difference is I didn't put up pictures of their faces here because I'm not sure they'd agree to that. My friends have always thought I'm a little weird but after spending so much on a camera I'm sure as hell gonna use it! Low light looks cooler and is a bit more challenging. I fixed my low lighting shots with people though. I put the ISO up to 800 and the shutter was around 1/30th. Worked like a charm as you can see.

WOW, these are great Ken. I think the pool table shot is the best but I am a poker guy so I really like #3 and #6 as well.

liking the low light macro shots, I too like doing these the most. on the first one next time try to focus on the center of the glass and not on the edge you may have to take the auto focus off. my favorite is the playing cards shot, all the focus is on the cards and it gives the picture alot of tension. it's like whats he gonna do? great shots all the way round ken. you think low light is fun to play with wait till you get a remote flash, i am still saving up for one myself. you can get nice ones for about 250 wing wangs. a little pricey but isn't everything involving dslr's

I'm content not spending any more money on my camera for now. Its been so much already. I do manually focus on a lot of the uber macro shots. I liked getting the camera focused on the edge of the beads because you naturally look at the center of the photo and your eyes pull down to the bottom in focus like glue. I can't wait to play with light painting though. After dark I've just been way too tired to get things all set up for that though. Soon.

good luck guys, if you don't get great results at first don't get discouraged. it's a trail and error process.

Things haven't been looking good lately but I think I need a different kind of light. Something that isn't focused.

i used one of those 2D maglight leds. the lens on it you can turn it to spread the beam out or focus it more tightly. I bought it at walmart for about 30 bucks.
