Wow, those blow away your other shots! Good work. Why does the ground look so weird?
Are you using any software, even if just for RAW to JPEG saving?

the ground looks weird because I shot them in a field across from the warehouse I work at. The lights illuminated the cotton plants in the field. I shot them in raw and adjusted them in photoshop cs2. thanks for the compliment, I think i got down exactly how far away i have to be to get decent shots its a range of about 5 to 6 miles, I am getting lucky with the rate in which the storms are coming in so i am getting more practice. i must say lightning photography is very challenging.

Awesome. How far from your home did you travel to get those shots? I'd love to get something like that but we just don't get that many server thunderstorms around here... they actually part right around this area. The reason I ask is because you've got a very wide open area right there and I just wonder how far you'd travel with a bad storm impending.

I think OEM is the best look. I just don't happen to think any of the various arrangements of OEM got it exactly right all at once

i took these about 5 miles from where i live. what i usually do is let the storm pass through then take pics of it passing away from me that way i don't run the risk of a downpour hurting my camera. I try to drive around town to take pics of the storms, although i think i may start to go out a little further in search of better background.
