Thanks! Well, it's real in the sense that I was really there and I really used my camera to capture the scene. I actually took 4 different pictures at different exposures and then combined them all into one. This is called HDR and it's a technique used to make the picture look exactly how you saw it. After that, I definitely messed with the colors and what-not in photoshop and that gave it a slightly surreal look but I like it!

Nope, they are actually physically on the building! I'm not sure how they did it but it was part of some project to promote some cause. I really don't know the details, but it was very cool.

A Nikon D50, but trust me, it's not the camera. People always ask me what camera I'm using, but I promise you this much: Out of those 26 pictures, maybe 8 of them looked exactly the way they do now when I first took the shot. The vast majority of my pictures have been edited quite a bit in photoshop. You might say I'm a better photoshopper than I am a photographer

That's another HDR Image, like I explained at the top of this reply. When you're shooting a sunset, you're usually exposing for the sky, which means everything on the ground gets really dark. By taking an exposure for the sky and an exposure for the buildings, I was able to combine both of them into one picture where everything looked relatively close to how I saw it when I was there

I'm just seeing these pics for the first time and they are amazing. Seeing them makes me miss my grad school days in NYC. I spent three years living in that magnificent city. Thank you for bringing some of the memories back.
