haha, thanks man. the Red eyes are completely natural, they were really red. i enhanced the color some in post production to make it stand out more.

There are a couple more shots i got of him where he looks even more pissed off. "Dont take pictures of me mother fucker!!"

I'd like to see those pics...cuz he already looks "tight"...ya know they're the official bird of NYC...as everybody knows, they perch on top of our buildings just waiting, and they sure as hell aren't scared of people...they'll shit on anyone or anything...i.e old lady, person in a wheel chair, baby in a stroller, my freshly washed Legend, etc...

You just can't beat natural lighting. People can diffuse and redirect light all they want, an environment's natural light always looks best to me. It sucks you can't pick up a cheap 50mm film lens.

I gotta disagree with you there. There are so many cool tools you can get for really cheap including filters, remote shutters/locks, and even my 50mm lens falls into a great 'bang for buck' buy at $75.

I just bought another 50mm f/1.8 lens identical to my old one. It may not be the most sturdy lens, but its 4.6oz which is, by a pound and a half, the lightest lens you can buy(which is great for free handing shots) and its a fraction the price of "professional lenses" which only gets you half a stop aperture anyway and no (or negligible) improvement in image quality.

I think OEM is the best look. I just don't happen to think any of the various arrangements of OEM got it exactly right all at once

ya, well the lenses for my camera are not cheap. my macro was $280, the flash was $250.

And natural lighting isnt always the best, sometimes there isnt enough light, so a flash is needed, dont be afraid of the flash ken, flash is your friend. i like to have picture come out still and not blurred from the slower shutter from needing to adjust to lower lighting.

You're right. Sometimes there just nothing you can do about a lack of light. Most of the time though, you can increase chances of a good photo by shooting in bursts, turning on more lights or turning lights up etc. In the few times I've found a flash to be absolutely necessary with live action shots using my 50mm the lighting was border lining uncomfortably dark for hanging out. Theres just something about a flash that rapes quality from a photo. The great quality of an SLR suddenly becomes strongly reminiscent of photos you find on myspace. Pure white light is very rare in real life and since you never see this kind of lighting naturally colors seem thrown off. Diffusing and angling help a bit, but its just not natural light. You nearly have to put a gun to my back to get me to use my flash.

Since you said it I would say a few days? I don't know Blingy very well and I also don't know how attentive he is to detail.
