Yikes, don't call a CL a new Legend coupe! CL's are based on TL's. Much uglier.

Here's that thread you were remembering;
http://www.acura-legend.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=101246
haha im not! i just read it somewhere...i was going off of that. man oh man! its all good though. and it was another thread i was talking about. some guy said his dad worked for an acura dealership and heard whispers in the company that a new legend was gonna be coming out.... who knows? and i also read that the TL's were the replacement for the vigors....once again i read this. this is not my personal opinion or made up fact im trying to get confirmed.

I'd say your article's author is misinformed. The 2.2CL, 3.0CL and later 3.2CL in no way replaced the Legend Coupe - they are part of the TL family.

Once again I refer to the archives...

"Acura, known for its sporty and luxurious models, is bringing American coupe drivers home in style with its CL Series of luxury sports coupes, the first Acura model designed, engineered and manufactured exclusively in the United States. With a bold exterior design and best-in-class luxury appointments, the sporty CL Series is pioneering a resurgence in the luxury coupe market."

Just a note on this link, I noticed it's a new format and it looks like alot of the data that was there before is missing. Hopefully it's just transitional and all info will be restored. I actually had to go through the www.hondanews.com link to get to Acura Archives under the "A" emblem.

Yeah then I flamed him for being full of $hit...I will however apologize to him like I said I would if he ended up being correct.

ive been on everyones case? man, ur trippin hard. i was under the assumption we were talking about legends in the place where we all purchased our legends...here in america. ur taking this japanese thing too much to the heart man. relax.
no i was saying that the legend will return to the USA soon i'm at the dealer all the time getting parts for my cars or club members cars even when i'm out of town i'll hit up a dealship to see what they have i do alot of home work not just think about stuff !

1) That looks suspiciously similiar to a USDM RL :turban:
2) To figure out the price, you left out the step about learning to read in whatever language that site happens to be in.

i couldnt agree any more with the name being brought back in n/a taking all the focus off our classics. i dont think our name will hold as high of value when you tell somoene "i drive a legend" outside this community. then they expect you to drive a $70k vehicle. and not a beautiful classic, that would probably still rank higher for its time part for part.

meh.. just my $0.02.. let the rest of the world water down the name. im happy with it just the way it is here.

I dunno; as far as re-sale value, "Legend"s took a hit when Acura stopped making "Legend"s for North America and replaced them with "RL"s. So bringing back the moniker...it may help? I guess I'd have to do some research into whether or not Monte Carlo resale values went up when Chevy brought that back or not...

Even if they brought the Legend back, I don't see them doing anything more then bringing back the name. I doubt we'll see anything much like the G2 body again. It'd be such a vast departure from Acura's entire lineup that it wouldn't make sense.

Personally, I don't believe that you can expect the same balance of performance, handling, and interior cut and finish that our Legends have either. Just like many of us find something slightly off or unimpressive about most Acuras build since the G2, I think you can expect the same if Acura was to re-release a car w/ the Legend name.

And I don't even want to begin to speculate what it'll cost to own one.

The name ain't coming back, this has been a rumor since the day "RL" went onto a car.

Now, maybe they will make a "RL Legend-Edition"?

The body style isn't coming back unless Acura wants to do with the Legend what Jaguar does with the XJ. Not going to happen.

As far as the name is concerned, it would be interesting to see what happens after "Acura" is launched worldwide. Being that the rest of the world still carries the Legend name on the RL, the question is whether Honda/Acura will unify all of their Acura vehicles under their current, more vastly used Honda names or convert the rest of the world over to the North American naming system.

That sucks! then our legends wont be legends anymore just another old car. I wont feel special in my car anymore there will be new legends everywhere.
then again it already is an old car look at the BMW 6 series

I love newbies
