Hey Mtnduey,

Cristalen and I are in the Los Angeles area. We are planning to do the install ourselves together. If Cristalen is cool with it, I'd be happy to have more people join the group install.

Just an FYI to everyone, I havn't heard back from Eric via email or anything, I don't think there is anything to worry about tho, I mean it's only Monday & I can't imagine how busy things are with all that's been happening with the hollidays and such, so I'm not worried, I just wanted everyone to know that I don't have any feedback/info yet so I'm still in limbo as to the leather seat purchase & all.

I think we're ok though :D I imagine that I'll hear back from Eric by Friday, so we should be just fine.

I think that if you know what exactly you want & talk to Eric and see if he'll agree that if you were to do something along the lines of this...

Ask Eric if he'll agree to give you the GB price of $XXX.XX for everything you want done to your leather seat covers (he may not agree to this if you want any stiching or emblems done) and give them a NON-REFUNDABLE Deposit of something like $150-300 and give you XX many days to pay the full ammount owed & if you don't make the "pay in full date" the price goes up by $XX.XX per week until it becomes either the price of 1 or 3 ppl in the Grp Buy OR... whatever you two can work out.

Talk to Eric, he seems like a nice guy & a good guy, not to mention smart businessman (after all, he did come to us about this, now THAT's a smart businessman :) and I think if you just treat him like you'd want to be treated, understand that this IS a business & to keep that in mind in your bartering, be fair & reasonable & I think you'll be able to work something out.

Just remember that if he does something like that for ya he's bending & breaking a LOT of rules so if he...
~1) tells you that you've got XX days to get it paid in full or the price goes up by so much for every so many days/wks
~2) tells you that if you don't pay so much by a certain date that you lose your downpayment (non-refundable remember b/c I sure wouldn't do it any other way, I'd even make ya pay 50% of the total GB price as your downpayment, only way to not completely lose your shirt on the deal if you can't pay it in time)
~3) tells you that you can only order colors that closely match common interiors of other Legends & wont be too hard to resell. In other words, no pinks & yellows with orange poka-dots with "Kill ******" stiched into the headrest ;) hehe
...be flexable, open to suggestions & possibilities, do the whole Golden Rule thing & I think you'll be able to get yourself some nice new seat covers @ the GB price :)

Then again, Jan 2nd isn't very far off, so all of what I typed above may not even need to happen :) But it's something to think about & all that jazz. Who knows, maybe someone else out there wants to do the new leathers too but can't pay it all in full until a certain date & may be able to work something out with Eric :)

Anyone out there w/color samples???

I need to know how Sandstone, Cream & Bisque compare to the Legend's Tan seats/carpets/etc... w/Black & Tan Dash look. How does each of those 3 colors match up? One more beige than the oem? One more tan than the oem? Lighter or Darker than the oem? etc..................

It looks like most people are going with Sandstone, but did anyone get a Bisque sample? For those that got a Sandstone & Cream sample, can you tell me why you went with Sandstone or Cream over the other(s)?

For those out there with the OEM Tan-ish interior, or someone that has it & has the samples I mentioned above, can you please give me some info/help with this?

I'd hate to get one color & then regret not having chosen a different one b/c it was more my style, or something...

Any help you all can provide would be very much appreciated :D

I can't walk w/o crutches yet but will be able to one day :) It's gonna be nice to get together with fellow Legend Owners one day & be able to play a little football or softball, or something, and actually play with everyone, not just watch on the sidelines w/my leg prop'd up.

Duane - I'm in on this groupbuy for my 94LS - I've got the OEM Type F, officially Ivory interior - the Sandstone is almost a perfect match to it. I don't know what will match the OEM Type E - officially Tan(?). I can tell you by way of my color samples that the Dark Brown does match the dash color - I'm having my new leather done with the Dark Brown inserts (gathered just like OEM). I do have some other color samples at home that I can check and let you know on later - lighter, darker, etc. - though I can't remember what colors Eric sent me.

On your other questions from the earlier post - the inserts are the middle of the seats, and the perforated doesn't come in gathered, only flat. The Premium Leather upgrade simply adds more leather to the rear seats - matching the factory rear seats with very little vinyl. Other than that - the Premium upgrade does nothing additional to the fronts. Hope that helps.

Group Buy Status...

Dear Members,

I am sorry that I have been so irresponsible in keeping up with your questions. I got all of Duane's answered a minute ago. I have tried to take the last of my vacation time here before I lose it so please bear with me.

Just to confirm, I have 11 orders confirmed. That means we still have 9 people who are on the list but have not called. It is ok if you need to back out of the buy, but have the courtesy to let both this forum as well as myself know it.

I will be taking orders through the 31st. If you for some reason need a little more time that is not a problem. Just call and order and I will hold your P.O. on my desk until you are able to arrange finances. This way we can get the count up and possibly reach another discount level for everyone. There will be a limit on how long I can hold the order, but we should be able to go as long as Jan. 7th 2004. Once we put in all of the orders for processing we will not be able to add people for additional discounts.

I know I have probably missed some questions, but please feel free to email me with any inquiries. I have a lot of catching up to do with my email as it stands which is why Duane had a late response.

LA group Install:

I'm cool with anyone that wants to join. A group install BBQ sounds awesome. The more the better. I don't mind the drive to anyone's place. Whoever has the biggest lot for all the cars would be best to host the install. I'll chip in whatever $$$ for the BBQ/refreshments.

I live in Temple City. My street do get its share of traffic. the driveway will allow two cars to be parked but seeing that we'll need to open the doors to get the seats out, there will be room for only one. The other one would be in the garage, but it's somewhat dark even with shop lights overhead.

Whoa! Hold on Eric, I didn't mean anything bad by saying I hadn't heard back from ya, I was just trying to let everyone know so they didn't start a riot or anything. Shoot, it used to take me forever to get through just the daily emails @ work, and if I took a day off it was insane! I don't even wanna think about when I got ultra sick and was out for a few weeks, ugh, not fun at all.

Anyway, I got your email & am reading it now. First chance I've had to read my email today. But your cool man, try and take the time off while ya still can :) It stinks how so many companies these days won't let you carry over unused days off & all. They stopped doing that at AT&T Broadband before I became disabled 2yrs ago.

Anyway, no worries, I'm reading the email now, we're cool bro :D Try & Enjoy whats left of the hollidays & try to have a good time with your friends & family, life is precious & you never know when things will change.

My mechanic likes my car so much he is in the process of buying a 94 coupe for himself!! It's a bit of a fixer-upper (has 400,000kms) but its in decent mechanical shape. The leather however is toast. He might be interested in getting in on this, especially since the exchange rate is so good for Canadians right now.

What's the deadline to place an order?? (sorry but its not on the 1st page and there is too much to read through, so I thought I'd just ask)

looks like I'm gonna have to wait on the leathers until I can see for myself what the colors are gonna look like compared to stock. It looks like I wont be back in Cali & see my car again for another week or two, so we shall see. I'm going to request some color samples just in case I get back there early or if by some crazy happening the grp buy hasn't finished.

Anyway, I just need to see with my own eyes what it's gonna look like, who knows, maybe I'll want to do things a little different than most.

GL everyone! Hope your leathers are even better than you imagined :D

Whoo-hoo just got off the phone with Eric from leatherseat.com.
I ordered the two-tone sandstone and dark brown combo with all 4 Acura Logos stitched on the head rest. And of course premium leather upgrade. I dont know what # that makes me but I guess someone keeping score. :D
