 As we all know the engine bay is aawfully crammed as it is in our legends, much less even cocieve adding a turbo.....but I as well as others would really want one!!!!!!!. Now I've recently came accross this new concept. It's really obvious and I dont know why no one hasn't thought of this, but I am going to be attempting this: http://www.ststurbo.com/acura___honda

now look, I was figuring i would need a garret t3/4 tubo, an ass load of 3" tubing, bigger injectors/fuel pump and maybe a performance chip, and damn It seems straight forward simple. Any of you legend genious' got any ideas' advise???? look I mean this is a great idea for the g2 legend, I mean the leanght of the intake tubing and since the turbo is in the back, you not only eliminate the need for an intercooler but you will reduce engine temps, and simplify installation....IT'S BLOODYT GENIOUS!!!!!!!!! (ironic i spelled that wrong) wudday'allthink?

i dont know, i'm gonna do it. I just don't see how anyone can know unless they see dyno proven examples. I mean, boost is boost. My legend is'nt my daily driver, the body is in total disarray as i am fabbing nsx style side scoops, cowl type hood shaved all around, roof scoops, air susp., the works, I'll have pics tommorrow (I swear) and well what i'm gettin at is I have the funds, the time, and well, enough know how that i think it could work. I mean boost is boost and any boost will help, as for rain, theft and other obscene crap, it doesn't matter to all of us, you think DV8 runs his car as a daily driver? I mean if he does, I'm sure he drive's with dicression. Seriously, other than the fact that turbos need heat, to be honest with you....i've never heard that......true as it may be, i thought the reason turbos are oiled and people run intercoolers is to keep things cool and prevent damage from excess heat, thats the point! I want a turbo, but i dont see it feasible with it under the hood, there's no f'ing room!!!!! The turbo size I believe is essential, i mean yeah with that much piping, lag lag lag, but as i said before, tubos don't restrict air so why does it matter, i mean at wort it'll serve as a really long cold air intake, any additional boost is just gravy!!!!! I gotta do more heavy duty research, but I'm a believer, i mean that site has dyno proven results that have been published in multiple magazines. Applications for everything from the tiny integra, to the big ass camaros and stuff. There's gotta some truth, and some truth = some power gains.... im in and i'll let everyone know whats up in a month or two....

i considered that also as a possibility, even if I have to channel the underside to make room i think that may be the way to go, that would reduce piping by way more than 50% and probably equal the same if not close to an intercoolers "airflow distance" yeah that sounds feasible, and more realistic, thats what i'm gonna do i think, I gotta get the legend up on the lift and check it out

and no i haven't seen it, where can i find a pic? I was under the belief that no one has ever turbo'd a g2 legend????????
....
theres been a twin turbo and a supercharged legends that were never completed, looks like they got far but never finished, as of now sr79labrat is working on a single turbo, http://www.acura-legend.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=49542

use the search option at the top, it's useful for finding everything, anyway if u do attempt to do some kind of forced induction setup, i wish u the best of luck...many people on here will be willing to help you out with any questions u have, but remember to look it up before you ask cuz more than likely its been discussed already

well like i said, I really am not sure of the exact combinations and or parts required for this project, but i believe that around 8lbs is realistic for our engine, as far as management, Theres really a number of options i suppose, but thats why i'm here to get advise from people with more knowlegde. I do body work and interior. I'm not superiorly versed in the workings of engines as complicated as ours, but from what i know it seems straight forward.....what are your suggestions? PS THANKS JOHNNY im new herew and thats obvious but I'm proud of my legend, it's starting to look really origional and I cant wait to explore all options for making my g2's bark equal to it's bite if you know what i'm sayin. I wanna run nitrous too, not sure what system is best?

at least you thinking of doing it, some people on here unfortunately are optimistic from the start and sometimes you hafta just do it and prove it to those who don't think things are possible. i myself dont know much about engine management and watnot but im sure those who want to will support you and help you out in ur project.

thanks man appreciate it. actually you know if anyone reads this thats really well versed in this topic lemme know. DV8, help me....you're the god of all legends, help me out man!!!!!!!!!!!! look I really am gonna do this. NO BS LIKE EVERTHING ELSE I READ!!!! I have a secure source for a Uber low mileage type 2. I plan on building this turbo system on my type1 and if it works out well, possibly go for the swap, what i'm trying to say is if I encounter problems or destroy my engine.......Fu#$ It!!!!!! I just want the glory of being the first. i'm sure with all the knowedge on this forum, we could come together and figure it out, I WILL be taking detailed photos and taking notes during installation to share with you all. For example.....any one got any idea where i could tap oil plumbing for the turbo??? I want a relatively simple setup that can be shared with all lnterested G2 legend owners.

as far as engine management goes I don’t know that much about it... you could go piggyback system like apexi safc. or you could go handata or aem, the legend ecu does not like boost so you might have to program one of your own. or you could use a missing link where it tricks the ecu, so it thinks it is sensing vacuum. this is a topic i am not very sure on. so correct me if iam wrong... please do i would like to learn more on it :2cool:

what do you think about this? could it work????

I called forced air tech. today, and had a long discussion about the turboing of a g2 3.2. He says its uber possible. Well this we all know, but has anyone done it.....NO. wel thats because he estimated a $6000+ price tag!!! and for only around 85 estimated horses. Well now thats not toooo bad but unrealistic for most. He said the biggest problems envolve the vacuum systems. I, as mentioned before, am not gonna burt onto this forum acting like im a genious on these topics but I really didn't understand why? I mean these parts should develop boost/power increase in a g2. he said. Well than what other than labor costs so damn much???? I mean I a Good welder, I have access to a pipe bender, I really wanna do this, am I missing something?? I mean If I bought these parts today, and started Fabbing up components, and bolted it on,what would happen? I mean does the ecu need reprogramming? Or will these parts alone suffice? Bigger injectors? Fuel pump? Ignition system?, What I'm asking anyone who knows is: can this be made to work simply buying aftermarket parts, or will I require some custom made parts? I'm not meaning manifolds or tubing,or anything I'm talking electrical
I plan On mouting the turbo at the y pipe as mentioned earlier as, the guy from forced air tech said this could work, I would experience some lag, but not nearly as bad as rear mounted, and would be much easier than messing with the headers. Whaddaya'll think?? These are the parts he used on the gold 89 g1 we all know, that could also be adapted to ours?
Turbo: Garrett GTR-25 Turbo
Intercooler: Custom Core (I wont be using this on my application)Engine Management: Vortech RRFPR, Split Second TMC
Fuel Pump: Walbro 255
Intake: Cold Air K&N Filter
