I have a 95 legend L, and have had some problems with it. Not sure how to fix them since I am still in college and really don't have the money for a mechanic to look and fix. My friend told me about this site, so I decided to seek for help here, before I shell out a whole bunch of a money for a mechanic.

1. My climate dial is on hot, but for some reason it doesn't give out heat anymore? The engine temperature is normal when I turn my heat on, but there is no heat coming out of it?? What can I do to check for the problem before I go to a mechanic? What are the chances of it being the heater core??

2. passenger side right power window won't roll down? I know I should check the motor of the window and the wires, but what else can I check? and is there any how to's on removing the door panel??

3. WHen i tap on my brake pedals when the ignition is in the "on" position, theres a clicking type in my gear box, what is that noise and should I be concerned???

I know these are maybe dumb questions, but I'm really not familiar with acura legends, so im looking to you guys for help. Thank you ahead of anytime for any suggestions.

To start it off, it's crazy cuz we have similar if not the same problem in 3 diff cases. Also im not an expert but here's what i learned .
1.Does ur heat and air not blow or does just ur heat not work? B/c if ur air and heat aren't blowing, its probably ur blower motor(i got this problem)I was told that the heater core holds the heat in the car once it actually blows out supposedly.
2.Only my driver side window will roll up or down. If its just ur pass side window not working, check retractors too(they broke easily on my max)
3.Can u actually hear ur trunk tryin to open?If so, try puutin some 10w-40 on the trunk latch(this happened on the max too)But on the legend , my trunk release works, but i cant open w/ the key.
* This may or may not help, but if it doesn't ,im sure somebody on here will make note of it.

I had the same problem right before I discovered I had a BHG...

for the heat issue... i would say check your coolant levels.. if they're too low that can sometimes create problems.. its a simple check.

If the engine temp gauge reads just under the half mark when the vehicle has reached operating temp (thermostat is working) and you can hear the fan speed change when you move the dial, then if you have ruled out air in the system (headgasket or leaks) I would check to make sure your heater valve is working. If someone changed the heater core hoses, they may have misadjusted the cable which operates the valve or the clip has not been engaged. It is also possible that the valve is stuck.

Open the hood, look way in the back and down (center of car) and ID the heater hoses. You will see a black valve which is attached by a bracket to the firewall. You will see a thin cable exiting the firewall and attached to a vertical shaft of the valve. To the side of this shaft and holding the cable to the bracket is a clip. Unclip the clip (do not lose) and start the car. After 10 min. move the shaft by hand in one direction. Is there a change in temp? If not, go the other way. When you ID which direction is full on, move the heater control knob to full on and shut off the car. The cable should be fully extended. Reattach, and reclip.

cool, Ill check the heat valve tomorrow. What about the tapping on the brake pedal and hearing a clicking noise under the gearbox (where you shift, this is an automatic by the way)??? What can that be guys???

a)Check coolant level
b) If heater core is leaking you should see coolant on the floor mat.
c) Have someone look inside the engine as you move the heater dial to see if it is actually moves

a) Check master switch

a) Locking gear click-normal

all of the other windows roll up and down except the passenger side. Also there is absolutely no sound coming from the passenger side window when I press the up/down for the window. Neither the master switch in the driver side and the switch on the passenger side window does anything for that window. Hope that helps

The "clicking sound" as mentioned is the shift-lock solenoid releasing (unlocking) the shift mechanism. If you look at the console you will see what looks like a door lock. This is to be used if you ever don't hear the solenoid engage. It allows you to use the key to unlock the lock and release the shifter.

In respect to the door. Since all the other doors work, it is either the master switch, door switch, wiring break or motor failure. You need to remove the panel and first activate the motor (by using the switch) to first see whether the motor energizes but is binding. If no noise/movement, then directly energize the motor. Then you need to rule out a door switch, followed by the master switch, and wiring. I have yet to hear of a Legend wiring harness breaking (which frequently happens to older Big 3 products).

Another idea which should be checked first, is to locate the door to body harness connector, unconnect and check for corrosion. This is a frequent problem for the rear doors.
