I am not sure where these doom and gloom comments come from, but your car has a knock sensor built into is that detunes the car slightly so that it will run just fine on regular gas. As far as I know, all newer cars have some version of a knock sensor to allow for the use of lower grade fuel.
To address some of the comments from outer space:
you will not damage your injectors and do you really think your fuel filter knows the difference between 91 and 89 octane?

It filters the fuel, not checks the octane!
it shouldn't run any rougher if the anti-knock sensor is working properly
you aren't going to damage the engine by having the knock sensor reduce the timing!
if you don't calculate your fuel mileage (miles driven by gallons uses) then you probably won't notice the percent or two less mpg, if there is even any!
As others have stated, your car will run fine all day long on regular gas with a slight drop in performance as I commented on. Some, including me, only use 89 octane gas and the car doesn't car nor do I notice any loss of performance. Of course, I am old enough that the "need for speed" just isn't as strong anymore.
