I think you probably just have clogged drains. I doubt you need a new sunroof or seal. To unclog them, pull the carpet in the trunk away from where the speakers are and find the drain tube that runs down. Get the junk out of the tube and pour some water down the holes in the sunroof. There's 2 holes in the front and 2 in the back.
I'm not sure how to unclog the front ones other than pouring water down them and get some long wire or something to push the stuff out of it.
alright, thanks ill try that, i was reading through my manual and i found out that they front ones are drained right behind the front headlights.. heh maybe i should read this thing more often :) thanks again hope this works. although it looks like the seal is very warn.. and it doesnt seal the sun roof when it goes all the way up seems there is a gap which water could get through with ease. still gonna try :) ill post results
will this work for my sedan too?? cause i get a shower when it rains!
i sure do hope so because thats what i have is a sedan and i get a shower when it rains long enough too..
i knew that... i just wanted to make sure that that was gonna be the places for mine ::thumbsup
Alrigh guys... this was my problem... i live on a crazy steep street (I have an 89 2 dr) and anytime i would park my car pointed uphill... it would flood on me in the morning. just... dude, it sucked.. i would be soaked... right before school N Sh!t. it was crazy lame... so i fig'd it was the seals too. so i goto this awesome window / seal / gasket place here locally and the guy broke it all down for me. he said that my car only has 2 drain holes, and they were both in the front... he said that mostly newer higher-end cars have four... that its uncommon to see an older car with four (maybe the makers didnt figure out the whole 'flood' thing yet LoL anyway..) so he stuck a fish pump hose (or what it looked like) hooked up to a air pressure tank. and stuck it down the drain holes and blew all tha crap out. (mine dump right behind the front wheels... in the wheel wells) so im not sure if u guys are havin the same porblem / situation as me... but he cleaned out mine and i havent had a drop since. but i cant park pointing up hill. so anyway, hope im of some help. good luck

There's 4 drain holes in the sunroof. Open it up and look further back.
Sunroofs are designed to leak at the edges - hence the drain holes. I took mine to the dealer (before I was a DIYer) and they cut off the nipples on the drains and blew out the crud in the lines. Be fine ever since.
RE:

gonna clean thoes drain holes today this sure will save me a couple of bucks :) thanks guys
well i tried to unclog the holes.. i bought some of that fish tank tubing crap and it will only go so far till i cant shove it down there anymore.. i dont got like an air compressor or anything.. any ideas? before i head off to the dealer :(

did you get to them in the trunk?? I just pulled both hoses out of the holes that go through the trunk "floor" and pulled off the cap type things on the hoses. All sorts of crap and water came out of them. then I just cleaned out the holes where they drain and hooked the hoses back up without the cap things on them. Haven't had a problem since.
well i cant figure out where exactly they are in the back and i was told that there were not any drain holes in the back of the sunroof for my car, 86 legend, the manual did not show any in the back eaither.. and is the hole behind the front wheels for the drain holes visable? because i could not find them, maybe i can run a hose up through that way.. and try it..
Look in the corners of the sunroof. Should be a hole on all 4 corners. Take a hose with the roof open and direct a small stream of water toward the rear corner and see if and where the water comes out. Cut off/remove the hose end nipples.
cut off the hose end nipples? and what hose? like one that i got myself.. i looked back there and didnt see any drainage holes.. maybe someone can tell me wqhere exactly in the trunk the hoses are that i need to pull out and unclog and i could go from there.. ? send me a IM on aim biggdave15 if ya wanna get into detail boutz it :) or post here more hehe
Maybe the '86's only had front drains? I think to see where they drain in the front you have to take the fender liner off. Actually you might want to take a feew of the screws that hold the fender liner on out so you can pull it back. I had a bunch of leves and crap back there that I think could block up the front drains.
yea ill try yet again tomorrow to save myself from gettin raped from the dealer and their sky high prices heh

Yah, i was also told by the guy that (hes a pro) checked out my sunroof that there were only drain holes in the front. he said that this year legend only had them in the front. that mostly the newer cars had 4 of them. And besides, it flooding on me when i parked it facing uphill doesnt make since if i had drain holes all around!? So... im not sure. i also was told the whole entire roofing and head liner were sealed with a water-tight seal 'trough' type thing. not sure whats what. but if i face downhill.. all is good. even tho it is illegal to park that way on my street! LoL good luck in whatever happens take care
