Hi guys,

I've check out this forum for awhile, but never had a chance to register nor post. Anyway, I need your expertise on this issue that I have right now w/ my 2000 RL. Everytime when I leave the car out cold, when I start, I'll heard the boiling noise either water or oil. Is it normal ? or do I need to take it to the dealer to have them look at it ? However, the sound only last until the car has warm up. Any input would greatly appreciated.

Hi, welcome.

I kind of doubt that anything is boiling, since your car is cold. It could be your ABS, that is a fairly common problem which causes a strange noise. Can you get someone else to start the car for you while you listen under the hood? Try to isolate the area the noise is coming from.

Telafonic,

Thanks for the info, it's not really the boiling sound. It sounds more like water moving, but I'll try to locate the noise, thanks again.

I remember a sound like that on my 1st Legend. It would kind of make a whooshing sound. I thought it might be water (coolant) circulating into the heater core. Maybe try different temp controls on you climate control and see if that makes a difference.
If you've had any work done on your coolant system recently, make sure any air has been purged or bled from the system.
