I'm gettin a good deal on 4 tires "205/50/16" for a $100. Will these fit on a 16x7 rim. I'm trying ti figure if they are wide enough since the wheel goes up a half inch from the 15 to 16.

They'll probably fit, but might be a little stretched. The overall diameter will also be quite a bit smaller than stock. The closest to stock you'll get on a 50 series tire is 225/50-16. Otherwise, you can just do stock at 215/55-16. Just for reference, the 225/50-16 is about 1/2 shorter overall in diameter to the 215/55-16. The 205/50-16 will be even shorter.

As stated above, it'll work perfectly. I've run 50 and 55 series tires on a 16" wheel. The 50 series will have a slightly harsher ride than the 55's though.

Just to add, 205/50-16 is more than an inch shorter overall than the stock 215/55/16.

The "50" reflects a percentage of the tire's width, so not all 50 series tires will have the same sidewall height. It's dependent upon the width of the tire; in this case, the tire you've chosen is 205mm across and the sidewall is 50% of that.

A 225/50/16 will work on an OEM 16 inch alloy. On an aftermarket wheel it depends upon the tire and the offset. I tried a Dunlop 225/50/16 on an Enkei 42 offset and experienced episodic rubbing in the rear when the vehicle (a Coupe) was loaded or hard-cornered.
