has any of you guys take on a 3000GT? ...this friday i did 140 with 3000GT but he couldn't gain on me until my speedo ran out and he caught up...anyone know the specs on 3000GT...was he toying with me and let me get stuck at 140 and then pass by me?

if he wasn't toying then i guess a typeII can woop his ass for sure...i only got a 91L coupe...my first time bringing her up to 140...didn't know that she could until i looked down on the speedo...i was like OH SH*T...lucky i slowed down (cop was on the side of the road a little bit later...)...the guy in 3000GT was cool though...he came up and we both gave each other a nod...hahaha i guess he didn't know what legend could do.
oh and i have an AUTO. got to give this legend of mine a kiss for handling so well at 140...no shaking no nothing all i could hear is my engine roaring...love this baby...can't wait til i get me a typeII 6spd. but for now no more 140...too dangerous and ain't good for my baby but for some reason...she's running smoother than before...accelerate quicker than before..don't know why...ah well...it's all good.

peace out...be safe guys...do 140 when there's no cars on the road and it's a straight away...i took a slight curve and it scared the sh*t out of me...car still grabs the road pretty good but felt like i had no control! good adren pump...latez

yeah, I raced a 3000gt a couple of years ago. We had raced to about 110...impressed the hell out of him, too. Yes, I beat him, but it may be due to driving skills...this one was one of those highway ones when someone cut me off.

He cut me off, so I had to cut three lanes over to the right...then we went at it...kinda spontaneous, he looked like damn! How is he keeping up with me? Anyways, when I got to my exit, he gave me a thumbs up.

Careful man, there are 3 types of 3000GT, the lame one with only about 165hp, and SL one with about 225hp, and the VR4 with 300hp (old) and 320 (new).

Definitely legend 6-speed can whip out the 2 lame ones, but not the VR4 dude.

I love DSM's, I have one... but, the problem with all of them (including the $45K VR-4) is that they are cheaply built, and the interior and accessories tend to break very early... unless you keep that car pristine, it'll fall apart. My roommate has a '95, and it's gorgeous, but the interior breaks every week, and it's the most frustrating thing in the world to fix... If you want overall quality, stay away from Mitsu, if you dont' care how it looks or hols up, and want to go fast (you ought to see my Starion - I got tired of everything fall off of it, so I gutted the interior), then get a VR-4, but don't get a regular or SL model (The N/A's) - those things are heavy and worthless...

The vr4 is phat as hell. I've never heard of them breaking, but I haven't done my research on them either. All I know is that they are fast as hell both low end and top, the vr4 is 4 wheel drive, and that they handle great. I'd really like one. Their are so many readily available parts for those cars.

VR-4s are phat. But one problem with them is the turbos go out easily. you push them too hard and they go. anyway, i had a friend who was racing one on the street and he hit over 165. But then he lost control changing lanes and ended up wrapping an almost new VR-4 around a tree, a telephone pole and a few other things. The car was in three pieces, but he survived it. 3 months in the hospital, but he survived. Just a story and a warning about the VR turbos. keep it real
peace

95Legend6speed: You got a starion, damn I used to have a '86 dodge conquest turbo (which is the starion, everything mitsu in it) My cousin was surprised back in 96 when he got his new eclipse(n/a) and my ten year old car beat him. It had a lot cool electronics for being an 86 but I had to get rid of it b/c it was getting to expensive to repair.

DSC - Yeah, my Starion's a little monster... it's got the following things, to name a few...

BIG 16G clipped turbo
ported exhaust manifold (by me, coated and oven baked )
6-point roll cage
5-point harnesses
new transmission (575-600ft. lbs. tq capable...)
new u-joints (heavy duty) and new driveshaft (lightened)
Carbon-Kevlar 4-puck unsprung clutch (really grippy!)
new LSD (2-way, for drifting!)
HKS bypass valve
hard intercooler piping
new 3-row radiator
new head
new headgasket
Vintage '86 JDM Starion ESI-R wheels, OTSU Tires (ever heard of them? Me neither?)
no interior (just dash, and Corbeau racing seats, and guages)
some other odds and ins...

This is one bad little car, but I'm worried that I may have to sell her because I have to be able to afford the below-mentioned project, and my buddy wants my New Turbo (the 16G) for his S2000... a turbo S... badass!! But I may drift her a few more times, then let her be parted out...
