light shuddering while idle, high idle, temp gauge going up/down, electical lights turning on/off, leaks in the trunk, brakes, smoothness of shifts into 2nd

what does it mean if there isn't a perfectly smooth shift from 1st to 2nd if you have the tpe 2 engine?

i just thought is was supposed to be a sporty feel for the type 2 engine
