Okay guys, I have a 6 speed and normally when I push in the clutch pedal to change gears my rpm's drop at a normal speed (I think), but when my ac is on my rpm's drop considerably faster. Any ideas? Thanks
It is not that difficult but you've got to have the right A/C equipment. You would need to:
1. vacuum all the R134 out of the A/C
2. remove the compressor and put in new one
3. highly recommend also replacing drier
4. fill system back up
New compressors are expensive, rebuilt ones are still around $200-250 on eBay. But remember that your compressor MIGHT be getting ready to fail but it might also be fine. If using a rebuilt one from eBay and going to a shop for the replacement, I'd guess around $400-500.
So I would not recommend unless you can first confirm your compressor is going!!
