advice on an 87 legend coupe

i recently found an 87 legend coupe for sale for only 600 dollars it has 190000 miles and needs a new distributer the timing belt replaced new valve cover gaskets a battery and emergency brake cable it is the basic model without leather or wood trim. is it still worth it? i'm not sure if their is anytyhing else wrong with it but with 190000 miles i am sceptical. i am worried about spending a lot of money on it then finding out that something major is wrong and that it will cost a lot to fix. i expect the repairs above will cost about 700 dollars this is more than the car itself. the body is in good condition with some rust and the interior is also in very good condition. it is owned by some old guy and i suspect he has babied it for the whole life of the car and he seems pretty honest and says that their is nothing else wrong with it.

Have a mechanic take a look at it, to see exactly what is wrong and how much it will take to fix. Even if you are spending more than what you paid for the car, it may still be a good deal. Mileage shouldn't be an issue, a lot of us here are near or over (way over) 190,000 miles.

I'd pass.
My current situation is : I have a G1 w/ 190k miles, PERFECT engine and PERFECT tranny but the body and interior are VERY subpar (rust, etc), but I do NOT want stuff to break down on me, as Legends are expensive to fix. Get a lower mileage one, if you are dead set on G1's.. but who knows man, timing belt needing replacement (did it break or like, does it just need it, cuz i know it calls for it every 90k miles).... I'd suggest you keep looking.
