Well, I receoomend Viper which is DEI. I have the es550 and I love it. Shock sensor, keyless entry, auto start, remote window,etc..
The basic setup will be 299.99, plus any extras, like the remote window & remote starter.

visit the audio section and search "alarms" see what they all have to say. I believe the viper/dei will be the alarm of choice.

Oh, let the pros install it for you. Hell, it takes them 5 hours to do it and they do it foa living. So, that means it would take me 24 hours to install it. Plus, they need to program it and if I remember correctly, they pulled out some book with different codes in it. waaaayyy too much for me to even comprehend, so..............:eek2:

my friends' cars got broken into a few times and they silenced the alarm simply by disconnecting the battery. is there to prevent this like hooking it up to a different source?
the only other source i can think of is a hidden battery. OMG!! I've got a new idea!! I cannot say because I have to research it first...

I just bought a Clifford Intelliguard 7000 from magnolia hifi. I got everything but the hoodpin option. One of the options was a battery back up. If they disconnect your battery, the alarm will keep going. In all, my alarm was $652. Worth every penny. I love the remote start and keyless entry for my 1993 Acura Vigor GS manual.
